Voidwalker Surge Machine PvE Fun (A Monte Carlo build)

I decided to give Monte Carlo a chance finally after it got buffed and did the following: [b]Voidwalker close range Surge machine[/b] The idea being to trigger surge as much as possible and zoom around, also taking advantage of Energy Drain reducing grenade cooldown to spam grenades. Close quarters high intensity PvE machine. [b]Warlock Voidwalker[/b] Recommend Axion bolt grenade (#3). Energy Drain Surge (first melee perk) Spec some agility if you want. Recommend high recovery. Spec grenades and super triggering energy drain (last column 3rd perk) [b]Guns[/b] Monte Carlo - [u]Key of this build[/u] Found Verdict/ whatever great close range weapon you prefer ??? (I prefer an LMG, Corrective measure or Jolder's Hammer. Surge allows for faster reloading of these weapons) [b]Armor[/b] Exotic Voidfang Vestments (Can't think of a much better one. Axion bolts are pretty good to have.) Max Strength, secondary max Discipline [b]Tips:[/b] - Some enemies don't die in one melee hit. You can melee those for Surge then finish them off with Monte Carlo for a chance at an instant reset. - Don't be afraid to melee bosses to get Surge + shotgun their faces. You can bait the melee relatively easily. Fun once you get the hang of it! People look at you like "wtf?!?!?" - Possibly due to a bug, Surge doesn't increase sprint speed. It does however make you walk as fast as if you were sprinting. Use this to dodge, get close, and hip fire effectively. - The way I play it is MonteCarlo small fry and whip out LMG or shotgun for more robust targets while keeping Surge up. Spam grenade liberally, and abuse the fact axion bolts trigger enemy crouch animation most of the time. Ex: Captain appears -> get relatively close with shotgun -> throw grenade -> captain crouches -> proceed to shotgun free of danger. If you do it right, your melee ability will be up about every 5-10 secs, Surge lasting 13 secs I think. Your grenade should be up fairly often, probably every 20 secs or so, maybe less. I hope you get a chance to try this build out. Let me know what you guys think! Other MonteCarlo viable builds: - Probably Defender melee shield abuse. - Shadowweave Bladedancer: Melee > invisible (reposition) > Monte Carlo > melee > invisible [b]Update:[/b] This build is actually flexible. You can change your melee perk to Soul Rip, max Intellect to have a Nova Bomb spam build. Credit to [u]Ohdin021[/u] for pointing this out. [u]Note[/u] however that with Bad Juju, if you just want Supers, that is also viable. Do you prefer to often melee kill or be more at a distance? Meleeing often comes with added bonus of reducing grenade cooldown. [b]Update 2:[/b] Monte Carlo "melee reset on kill" is pretty ridiculous. It seems to be around 20-30% chance. As such, some players may forego maxing Strength. The refill from simply doing damage is also pretty decent. [b]Update 3:[/b] Consider using bloom with a Discipline/Intellect build, relying on monte carlo resets for maps where there are densely packed mobs. Can be rather effective.

    have to say I'm not liking my monte carlo at the moment but it's not upgraded much yet (got it day of dark below release so it's base damage is 302 already though). may try giving this build suggestion a go, also thought it might be helpfull with sunsinger for regular flameshield use
