PETITION: Bungie, reconsider removing exotic gear wipe upon expansion
With the new article on GameInformer Bungie has revealed their plan for our Exotic weapons. They plan on making it so if you want to level your Exotic weapons and gear up to the new level you have to completely wipe out ALL progress on the gear, require 7,000 glimmer, an exotic shard, and Xur's RNG system. Now I don't know about you guys but this is completely and totally unacceptable. I have spent several days playtime leveling up my gear and weapons and being forced to level them all up again is just insane and I refuse. I would absolutely rather look for another gaming experience and quit Destiny than be forced to go through all my hard earned progress again. Now you may or may not agree with that part, but surely many of you agree that having to start all over on your weapons and armor is just stupid. Please show your support and tell Bungie that we do not agree and we would like if they changed or removed this system.

5 RepliesI was actually surprised when you upgrade it actually starts at a higher damage when it resets. So something like icebreaker is almost like having the same gun. But with Gjallahorn I can see it being pretty frustrating.

I totally agree. I have had it with this game unless they change this stupid idea. I would need to have 400+ strange coins to trade and upgrade my 31 exotic pieces. Why would they put this in the game?

So true!! The new versions drop with more damage aswell wtf!!! Why are you making us grind for the same equipment again!!?? wtf is this?? Maybe reward us for having found it before patch not fuk us bungie. Maybe implement a system where if we choose to upgrade we have it almost maxed an just have to do the last 3 damage upgrades to reward us for having grinding before but will need a little more to max.... Damn bungie your ruining this brilliant game. Pass it onto 343 already..

Personally it took me 3 ducking a months to get all of the ones I wanted and my disc would go straight out the window if I had to do that again. The issue is everyone wants a handout. in life, video games shit doesn't matter, everyone wants everything for nothing. lol

We are levelling up not re-levelling. If you want to keep your icebreaker at 300 do so, if you want to upgrade it then start grinding. That's the game and I won't share the lengths I'm willing to go to for extra damage let alone more light. P.S if anyone has any Radiant Shard to spare I will be waiting in the hangar wearing my sexy pants

I've already started the process with my exotics and the funny thing is in the case of those that were three quarters done or less I ended up with more dps than I had before wiping. Those remaining, I quickly within a couple upgrades had more powerful weapons than I had previously. I may not love the upgrading process but when my last word starts off putting out over three hundred dps, it's a no brained for me.

Ermmmm FYI if you use xur to upgrade your old exotics they upgrade a lot faster I turned in 4 bounties as soon as I upgraded my ice breaker and got the first upgrade and a quarter way to the next stick on a telemetry hand in 1 days worth of bounties bingo maxed out not a problem cry all you want. Bungie did take it into concideration

I don't see why this is a big deal, I reset my stuff after work Friday and had the new stuff a few hundred xp shy of max level again that same night. Saturday morning did 1 bounty and was done.

3 RepliesI love the exotic reset! For once I don't have to get rid of my old gear when a new "expansion" comes out. If you've never played an MMO before, go look at some info of what happens to gear and weapons in most MMO's when new content is released. It all becomes useless for newer gear. Bungie is giving you the option of keeping the exotics you love and taking them with you. Made me so happy to be able to keep my icebreaker and my Symbiote helmet on my hunter.
