I do not want to Talk to Bungie.

Not to be "that guy" but do you only respond to post where people are physically hurt, killed, or kissing your back side? I mean I am all for the memorial for our fallen guardians, not that you mentioned anything about adding it, and its sad to lose friends or fellow guardians in the great battle against the darkness and his memory will live on, but why do you never reply to other people? Why does it take tragedy to drawl your attention? Please, even if you don't answer my questions, please listen to what I am about to say: Make a monthly game night for you Bungie employees to chat with players in game, talk with them in secret or openly, which ever floats your boat, but talk to players and actually hear them out and respond to them. You can say "thanks for the feedback" or something simple like "that would be cool". People would love this, and your developers could take a break and work with players to fix any issues the game has. Testing will only take you so far, you have to have feedback, and its obvious that this site is not enough to quell the masses of people disappointed with the status quota. I have my own thoughts, but even if you never talk to me, please talk to the players in game. Thank you for your time and I hope my request is heard, and I again apologize for the interruptions in the memorial request for fallen guardians and the gifting of the critically wounded, may you walk in the light of the Traveler and know peace. *If you don't agree with this post, please refrain from commenting, I will defend this post earnestly and will block you if it gets out of hand; keep it clean.

    • I'm sorry, i really can't relate to your mindset right now. Not saying that your ideas are valid, but for beliefs of my own, i don't see this happening this soon. Is it really that important to have DeeJ reach out exclusively right now is there something you desperately need to know or do you require your requests to be fulfilled on principal? I can understand that you are passionate about the game and community as well (as much as i can debate that i feel you are going the wrong way about it), but have you ever thought to yourself "This really isn't working for me."? Have you contemplated switching off autopilot and approaching your goals from outside the box? I'll throw one example: Generate a 3rd-party community site, a think tank of like-minded members with ideas and critical opinions of the games structure. Basically have others join who can vent away, set up moderators who can sift through the heated gripes and eventually refine posts to obtain a common gauge of what is wrong with the game to polish and present formally to the development team. Because right now, it's just not working. Bungie is a cesspool of people with good ideas, pissed off people, lack of community moderation and those willing to defend the tarnishing of Bungie's name, the whole thing is volatile and plain difficult as gaming communities go. At least this way you are diffusing the conflict that lead to incoherant behaviour between community members, i'm not talking about a forming a hate-group, but insightfully, an enthusiast group on telling it how it is that Bungie can learn to respect without feeling you are a burden on their community. It's not going to solve every problem with the game, but it could help deliver the changes we all want to see in a more effective manner without Bungie having to sift through the shit. It sounds corny, but be the change you want to see in the world. I'm only saying this because i've been in a similar situation as DeeJ, in a non-gaming but well known brand as a consumer relations representative. The company was new at the time and unfortunately resources were properly allocated to R&D however the company lost sight and were more focused on the development side to please investors rather than the research aspect, thus the community. I and a small team were tasked to be the smiling face of the company/product and although we were considered successful, a miniscule percentage of consumers were obviously not happy. That 0.0007% amounted in the thousands, hundreds of daily written complaints to my personal inbox, it was impossible to acknowledge all of them on the personal, empathetic and detailed level and enthusiasm that i had envisioned my job to be. As days, to weeks went by, we couldn't keep our head above water. Our relationship between the community reps and the disgruntled consumers was one step forward, two steps back. This was clearly evident as those who were fed up of waiting for that personal approach to feedback, resorted to taking it up publically on facebook, as days went by, it just got worse, this tiny majority became the loudest and despite our research and sales figures showing otherwise, it appeared as if they had become the loud majority opinion of the company. In basic, investors started to worry, not most, but some were highly concerned about the damage of social media to the company name, blame was shifted to us, we asked for more external recruitment since they would shift employee assets to our dept. They said no, and no to volunteer reps due to non-disclosure risks, so we resorted to PR campaigns on a broader approach. Combating complaints with mass advertisments and 'baby-kissing', publicising charity involvment and parading 'personal' 1 on1 feedback to select complaint resolutions. Sales were still solid and investors were happy, but we basically threw one big 'smiley-face' rug over the little people who cared the most and muted them. Long story now short, i came to the realisation that i couldn't please everyone no matter how hard i tried, i wasn't allowed to disclose why i couldn't get to everyone on a personal or detailed level and in reality it felt like i wanted to feed all the starving people in Africa and no matter how hard i tried, it felt futile. Despite my empathetical approach to my job, all the negative feedback and personal emails & IMs with a few unrealistic death-threats, i couldn't help by taking it personally, but if i didn't take it personally, i felt like a fake, some kind of immoral shell of what i used to be when i took the job. So i quit. I initially felt weak about myself, but i moved to a smaller company in the same position, but with a smaller consumer base and damn i felt good about myself without the stress in an instant. I still have contacts in the previous company that say it isn't as bad as it used to be those years ago, because they eventually established identity and structure...and the complaints eventually dropped off over time. But i was beginning to question my mental health at that time and still felt i made the right choice. So yeah, i like to give DeeJ the benefit of the doubt on his position and his silence. I don't expect everyone to understand, but i hope some will and ease up a bit and brainstorm together as a community to improve the game on alternative channels for the time being whilst Destiny is still relatively fresh. TL;DR - There's a hidden chest in VoG by killing all the Gorgons simultaneosly within 30 seconds providing you gained immunity.

      • I've actually gotten a hold of him on a few accounts with my feedback posts. The responses I get though are small, vague, and often pointless.

They used to do Community Carnage events all the time, you just missed the golden age. Above are two of around twenty examples I can give you. Guess your too busy begging to actually listen, look, or pay attention.

            • So, they've had multiple game nights where certain devs have advertised playing for a chance to get in and even win unique emblems. They say "thanks for the feedback" by tweaking the game to provide a better experience based on popular public opinion. They say "that would be cool (and feasible)" by actually implementing it into the actual game. And they respond directly to the community as a whole in each weekly update. There's no way they have the resourses, nor should they waste them, to respond directly to every person's issue or idea presented on the forums. I, for one, definitely feel heard.
