Is invisiblity worth it in PvP?

Invisibility works great in PvE, but that's because the enemies are programed to ignore you. In the few instances where I can view my character in third person i'm not really all that invisible. Even when standing completely motionless you're still quite blue. I've tried using it in the Crucible and i'm being spotted almost instantly regardless. Is there any practical use to trying to use invisibility against real flesh and blood players with eyeballs or should it just be ignored in favor of other skills when in PvP?

The only invisibility I use is Vanish on Arc Blade. The main reason for that is to stay off the radar, and get a jump on the opponent. Far to many people rely on their radar instead of looking around. You might as well get the upperhand.

  • I use P&T for the invisibility, but not in PvP, just to spy on dregs taking a shower.

  • I use it to flank the sniper camping in the corner of the map. Otherwise, it's the sprint perk and Hungering Blade perks, instead.

  • Yeah, if you feel the need to rely on a crutch that only your class has. Other than that, 1) It's not good. 2) Only the oblivious won't see you. 3) You're bad if you have to rely on it.

    • Invisibility in PvP is more for hiding from players motion detectors than their eyes. When you're cloaked you do not show up at all, which can be extremely useful if used correctly. You are still easy to spot, but they won't know you're coming before they see you like they normally can.

    • I always use it, not showing up on radar pretty much guarantees a kill, just don't expect to go unnoticed when they see u. You need to flank plp and run up on them from behind.

    • I've noticed you also don't show up on the mini map when you're invisible, that's what I'm always looking at when I'm playing pvp and the invisibility does help get the jump on people it isn't really effective halfway through the match cause people will know there's a hunter that's cloak running.

    • You can get the jump on people, but it only works for a short while and if they are not focus in your direction, got caught off guard once using a rocket launcher and i was too late to shot the rocket at a hunter closing in.

    • it is helpful if you have time to crouch around for a few seconds. but even then it's not nearly as beneficial as Hungering Blade

    • I have only ever used it to get off the radar for a little bit. Most people will still see your glowing blue outline.

    • If you crouch in a corner you can sometimes get the jump on a guy

    • If you're far it helps. And you're removed from the radar. So u can sneak up and be a shotgun scrub

    • It helps you avoid a headshot in a gunfight. Something I like to do is to immediately crouch as soon as I shoot because most people aim above the torso trying to sort of guesstimate where the head is.

      • It is very easy to spot in the open, but that isn't the main utility. Camo hides you on the radar, so you can sneak up behind enemies and get the drop on them. If you know there is a group of enemies holding down a hallway go invisible, flank around, toss an arcbolt grenade, and clean up the shield-less stragglers with your primary.

      • Invicibility is beneficial in PvP if you are proficient. If you can use your invicibility to gain a split second advantage by pulling your trigger first in a gun fight it is worth it.

      • Yes but if your opponent has a good eye your usually real easy to see.

It is not worth it in most modes unless you are a very tactical player. However, I made a stealth Bladedancer and took it into Rumble and it is definitely worth using there as most encounters are 1v1. Standing leaves you on the radar, crouching makes you blink but invisible lets you run and not show on the radar at all. I don't bother with Shadowjack and use Fleet Footed. I kill people from behind and the side all the time. I just wait for them to go around one side of the object as I cloak and then run around the other. 205 Rumble CR, 3.3 K/D on my Bladedancer running that set. Also... Stalker works even while using Arc Blade. Vanish is better because Stalker takes a while to activate (wastes the first couple of seconds of your Arc Blade) but I've used Stalker a few times while in Arc Blade and it seemed to work. Not sure if there's a difference but if not, then you could use Stalker with maximum agility to get into the middle of a group and then use Showstopper to kill them all. Max Agility with Fleet Footed and Increased Control Double Jump is hilarious with invisibility. You can move ludicrously far in those 5 seconds of invisibility. One minute you're behind a pillar, the next you're behind the guy trying to kill you stabbing him in the back.

        • Invisibility takes you off the radar. Crouching doesn't but periodically takes you off. Invisibility is permanent.

            • It depends who you are playing. If I'm going against a group of seasoned PvPers, it does nothing. However, in an area with a lot of corners and some clueless gamers, you can shotgun spree the hell out of people.

              • Somr people don't notice you right away if you're hiding and not running at them. Also it completely takes you off the radar while you're invisible.
