Deej Hear Me Out: Xur is killing Crucible
Im a rather dedicated Destiny player and in my honest opinion I think its horrible when I see lobbies FULL of Suros Regimes, Invectives, or in this case Plan Cs. Its getting ridiculous to see a period in a game where everyone has the gun you actually worked hard for and got lucky enough to get just by buying it -_-. It Hurts....
Im NOT saying get rid of the little Hentai inspired Bastard jus make it a little harder to obtain his goods.....lol
For EX: Make Xur a weekly event where he had to be found on one of the planets scavenging and like a public event he traveled around the area in a set amount of time before leaving.
Or...
Make him go rogue and in those locations thats I spoke of above attack guardians with the exotic weapon he WOULD be selling and if you defeated him before he got to his final checkpoint you where able to get the exotic weapon he has for free but at the cost of some time and struggle.
If they still want to do something with those Strange coins make them currency for Eris and allow us to buy Ascendant Materials with them.

All of this conversation seems to orbit around what people's opinion of exotic should be. Should they be more rare? Sure. And they are. Rarely if ever do you get an exotic from a drop or engram and you are only allowed to buy one specific exotic A WEEK. Legendaries are far more common, they are spread out across all the merchants in the tower, but they are static, they are always obtainable with the right amount of marks and reputation. There are obvious differences there in how you obtain legendaries next to exotics. If everyone buys a single weapon from xur over the weekend, does this make it less exotic? Not really, because if he sold a legendary vanguard weapon for 23 strange coin, everyone would bitch about how redundant and grindy it feels. Some exotics are still not even available ever from xur, some are apparently bounty only. So what's the big deal? What makes these weapons exotic is partly because they are harder to get than legendary tower weapons. And that is legitimately true. The only argument left to offer on this really is if you were to say "yeah, but they don't give me any edge in pvp because everyone uses them now." The problem with this argument is that only people who are level 20 or higher can use them so obviously not "everyone" uses them. So then apparently you're upset because people who are the same level as you have access to the same stuff? You don't want any competition? Well that's kind of the point of pvp. No offense, but I hope bungie doesn't listen to this post because 1) I like xur and 2) people rage-quit when they merely lose, by the same mentality that you posted this. You can't just ask someone to change a game because you got frustrated in crucible one day when everyone had "your gun."

4 RepliesActually it's been fantastic these last few weeks. Everybody has been using weapons they aren't familiar with (or just suck at using) so I've been making the most of the crucible, especially Iron Banner. Don't forget that [i]these weapons are available to you as well.[/i] It's up to you to understand how they work and find the best way to stop them. Suros Regime is a good gun, but you can stop a user easily just by shooting back. Serpentine and drop out of their sights. Suros doesn't have Third Eye; they can't see you without dropping their aim. While they look for you, you've already killed them. Last Word has great speed and hip action, but lousy range. Pick them off from distance or force them to move with a grenade so they can't get a chance. Plan C seems intimidating but it's flawed. Fast speed and good range? Too bad it has a narrow cone of fire. Sidestep and strike. Make your opponents waste that pitifully small clip. When they're forced to switch or reload you can rush in to mêlée them. The bottom line is [b]DO NOT FEEL INTIMIDATED.[/b] You have the same range of tools as everybody else. Our skill is not equal. Some will always shine above others, even with identical equipment. [i]But that doesn't mean you can't improve.[/i] Best of luck to you. I want to see all of you fit and ready during the next Iron Banner.

2 RepliesWorked hard and got lucky? Lmao. I love these xur posts. The crucible is killing the crucible. And all the people who can't handle it. I absolutely suck at PvP. And it frustrates the shit out of me when I play it. I die every 2 seconds and I'm constantly dying and screaming at the TV saying that was bs or that gun is op. Then I calm down and realize I was being a little bitch. I don't post on the forums because every has exotics. If you can't handle getting killed in the crucible then don't play it. Xur is not the problem.

1 ReplySomeone's mad because he ain't special no mo'.. I think you need to stop thinking that you some "earned" a weapon just because RNGesus smiled on you one day. The only people who have ANY right to think in terms of EARNING their exotic weapon are the people who have completed exotic bounties. ...and even then (I've completed three and about to start a fourth) the only one that really has any room to look down their nose at how anyone else has gotten their exotic weapon are those hardened killers who have completed the Thorn bounty (which I'm NOT one.) Don't confuse superior luck for superior skill. Because THOUSANDS of people (have completed whatever---non-bounty---activity you have, and weren't GIVEN one by RNGesus). You were lucky. Take that luck and be grateful that it left you able to spend your strange coins on something else.

1 ReplyDude. Stuff it. I like looking forward to Friday's. You're going to get killed in crucible no matter what. You're also going to get kills no matter what. No one gun has enough power to completely ruin your stats. The only one was the Vex and they fixed it. That's the entire point of balanced guns. Bungie has it covered. They have mountains of data regarding this stuff. The guns are balanced. That's why I kill with my Suros and I get killed by shadow price. That's why I kill with my Hide and Seek and I get get by invective. The beauty is that the next guy will have a different gun. He'll be a different skill level. I might win with a grenade. He might win with heavy ammo. My point is that there are so many factors that play into a gun fight. No one gun fight is ever the same, NO ONE GUN ALWAYS WINS EITHER. So you don't need to apply this shoddy, bad scientific theory to the conversation that Xur is ruining crucible. The only way that would happen is if he sold an atom bomb that killed every player on the opposing team at the same time and it had infinite ammo.

I don't have Suros...but I have to say I'm a bit fed up of constantly seeing that I've been killed by it. I pack a Legendary Scout rifle (the Centura II) but keep getting blown away fast than I can dish out the damage...even when I open fire first...if my opponent has the Suros. Would I use Suros if I had it...I'm not sure...maybe....but when you're constantly seeing it on your screen as the weapon that's killed you, then you do start asking questions as to whether it's OP or just how many people own it Not saying it is OP...just frustrating that it's always the same gun.

6 RepliesLove the idea man, but it just won't happen. Bungie dumbed down destiny for a reason, to appeal to a dumber audience. If you make exotics from xur harder to obtain people won't comprehend why they can't get them, and why they aren't easy to obtain. In the last year of development destiny underwent massive changes, to appeal to a larger audience. One of those change was dumbing it down to the point where anyone (even a chimp) could play it. Didn't you ever find it odd how destiny went from originally being M rated to T rated? Do you know how hard that would be to get that rating? You really, I mean really have to try to get a shooter T rated. Even COD is M rated simply for being a shooter. With all this being said, it will never happen bud but, it is a great idea.

I think you need to ask yourself one question. If Xur did not exist, and you were still killed by ~insert exotic here~ would this forum post be a QQ about nerfing ~insert exotic here~ ?? Xur provides balance by allowing everyone to obtain powerful/subpar weapons You can come at me with a Suros, but I have a Shadow Price blessed by RNGesus himself that will eat your face. Oh you have a Plan C? MAYBE I WONT RUSH THE CORNER WITH THE RED BLIP ON MY MAP FOR THE 4TH TIME?!?!? ZOMG DOMINATION RUSHRUSH no but seriously RNG'd light/beware with +charge rate and slide distance with reserve ammo >_<

Most of my strange coin comes from me doing the weekly strike on level 28. Sometimes I get more from the nightfall. To say I didn't earn my exotics that I bought from Xur would be wrong. Xur is great for PvP and non PvP players alike. It's not like you can just go to Xur wuthout putting some kind of work in and by his exotics.

It's a lot of people getting the same gun at the same time, you're gonna see a lot of it for the first few days. I don't see the suros, last word, icebreaker etc. as often as i did when they were first sold. People are just playing with their new toy. Shit, I rolled with the bad juju for a few days just because new stuff is fun.
