Balancing the Arc Blade Super Fairly

I propose the following. Arcblade duration will no longer be reduced by lunging, using abilities, or getting kills. Arcblade will now have 3 Charges. Charges are consumed after a Kill, or after every use of Showstopper of Razor's Edge. If multiple kills results from a Showstopper or Razor's Edge, more Charges are not consumed. No more than 1 will ever be consumed by Showstopper or Razor's Edge even if the player gets multiple kills with those abilities. Showstopper range increases slightly. Razor's Edge no longer tracks the ground until it hits a surface, and may be aimed in any direction. Vanish does not consume a charge, but may only be cast once per use of Arcblade. Upon all charges become consumed, Arcblade is dismissed. Sound good? Prolly not... Not too much of a nerf, but you can no longer kill an entire team... twice... unless of coarse you are just that good! Which is how it should be. That said, the only way to counter an arc blade is with heavy ammo, lucky shots with a shotgun, because they are dancing all over the place to hit, or at range... But they still have that extra damage resistance. So... A super is left, but sunsingers and defenders still have no answer... My system here limits the kills similar to that of the Gunslinger and BUFFS mobility because it no longer drains duration. That way, the dancer can still... Dance... But the are no longer the grim -blam!-ing reaper.[/quote] Editted for clarity.

      • Arc blade doesn't need a nerf. The only thing that needs a nerf is the degree at which whiny little titans and warlocks in this section shit themselves when they see a bladedancer lunging towards them. It is a [b]Super[/b], people - nut up, and figure out how to deal with it in stead of coming here and whining like a bunch of bitches that something is OP just because someone killed you in PvP.

          • Blade dancer doesn't need a nerf, it's situational, like everything else on this game. I've had 5 kill blade dancers and I've had no kill blade dancers and I've had times where I had easily 4-5 kills lined up and the other team actually is smart and focuses their fire on me and wreck me. Blade dancer is easy to avoid, for instance, hear the super loud blade dancer activation? Run away. Don't think you can get away? One blast with a shotgun and a melee and they're dead, yeah that method will get you killed anyway but it stops the blade dancer. I use that super and I have to go up against that super. It's not OP. People just have a hard time grasping that if you're whole team is on a control point or in a tight space blade dancer will rock you, Titan smash and void bomb would do the exact same thing in spaces like that. Like people have said before, instead of warlocks and titans panic supering, save it for a better situation. Many people will see I have 2 hunters and be like newb hunters trash warlock/Titan master race. And just so you know I have a warlock too and I'll admit I'll use my void bomb as a panic super, but you can also save it and get a 4 kill void bomb if you get the right opportunity.

          • So did they -blam!- with Hunters again ? Cause my arcbolt grenade doesn't do as much damage and won't chain people as good. Razors edge -blam!-ing blows dick, and I feel like it's easier to die in blade dancer. Can all you Warlock and Titan fags just relax now, I mean you -blam!-ers are almost impossible to kill while doing your special and your specials are just too OP.

            • They have already nerfed it once stop whining. If u still are complaining i would like to see that they completley re-do both Warlock and titan specials so they don't have suck a upper hand in control where ppl gather in one place and they can clear out entierly with their aoe.

            • I think it's fine since unless you have the "kills extend duration" perk you will rarely get more than 3 kills which is basically the same as you are proposing. People would still bitch about this since I could just run around with loads of mobility and throw grenades while moving around at 2x the speed of anyone else. What I would suggest is that the "kills extend duration" perk be limited to Showstopper/Razor's Edge kills or kills while invisible with Vanish so that regular stab kills don't extend duration, just the ability kills. This would hardly affect PvE since Razor's Edge and Showstopper are optimal for clearing waves with Encore in PvE. If this was done, you would end up with the same thing without worrying about increased mobility for an incredibly long duration.

            • I read one line and completely disagree, nothing wrong with any super in the game. I managed a squad wipe with one nova bomb you wona nerf that too? All the people looking to constantly nerf weapons and supers are looking in the wrong areas as to why crucible isn't as balanced as it could be. Open you mind and actually analysis the game and provide proper feedback. These post will just have bungie running around in circles and not be helping them bring the game forward

              • Nononononono. Stop. If you see a hunter with a blue blade with lightning on it and don't have your super.......run the hell out of there. Stop trying to nerf supers especially hunters. Its obvious when our super is out. A titans hulk smash move is basically an instant. But I don't want any super changed.

                • the only thing i would say against bladedancer is maybe, (emphasis on the maybe) scale back the damage resistance you seem to have when in arc blade mode. Its pretty much fine as is.

                  • I think a better way to balance blade dancer is to fusion rifle them. Just had one run away from me after I missed the first shot. Problem solved

                  • Honestly I love my arc blade. During the new raid when my team got past the lamps and we had to stand on the platform until the bridge formed we got swarmed by a shit ton of enemies, most of my team died But I pulled my super out of my ass and sliced all those enemies to death and revived my whole Team.

Every sub class has its advantages and disadvantages, and it's up to you as the player to adapt your skills and overcome, to become legend. PSx2: I'm a level 30 Hunter, who exclusively runs golden gun.

                      Just saying think about how it would effect PVE before you want to change it cause it owns in PVP because Bladedancer Super Is trash PVE unless farming, because it already does like no damage pve and you get one shotted by Lightswitch most the time or you don't kill anything and die by a Elite Creature cause you didn't get a kill for Health Regen via Hungering Blades, but if we only get 3 Swings like Golden Gun gets 3/4 Shots then Bladedancer would be worthless PVE and really PVP considering they get a whole 3 kills unless lucky with Showstopper or Razor Edge it's fair as it is learn how to run or compensate for there speed and kill them before they one shot you like a SUPER should and if they actually do wipe your entire Control Team that's sad sir. Note: Forgive my bad spelling if I missed up.

                        Have you used bladedancer? It's no op at all I find it to be quite well balanced.
