Voidwalker vs sunsinger for Raid

Normally I use sunsinger but recently a bunch of people have been telling me voidwalker is actually more useful for the raid? I can see why they may think that, after all void is more useful for the raid.. So what do you guy think?

    Radiance is a crutch. I've maxed out both hunter and Titan subclasses before I did warlock. And I started sunsinger and got radiance and was like this is stupid. I have to die to use my super? I know I don't have to die but other than the self revive the super is sooooooooooo lacking. The reason why sunsinger is so damn popular is because it gives a player the most exploiting capabilities, and lets you not be that guy who makes a fire team wipe. Void walker is the subclass for the warlock, no if and or buts about it Edit: my point being, if you couldn't push atheon(before patch), and Templar, who would honestly play sunsinger?

    • I'm not a huge fan of first person in games... As such I find most of my deaths come from me falling off a ledge either shooting or jumping. I go sun singer because revive when a first person problem arises. I really don't like first person... Can't wait for swords so I can be perm third person.

    • I'd say void in normal because normal is too easy and if you die just wait out the 30 seconds Then I'd say sun for hard for the self rez, I'm personally very experienced when it comes to hard raid but I still rock sun with fireborn just to be safe, I mean we are human, mistakes can and will happen. But that's just my honest opinion

    • Use the one you're most comfortable with. I'm more comfortable with void walker because I know I won't die so I don't need the revive

      • If you play sunsinger and are counting on that self revive ask yourself what's going wrong? Every other class does without such a crutch. So many times I hear its ok I got res. Why were you in a position that you needed to be revived? Go voidwalker.

        • Using the Sunsinger special (not self-revive) is great in situations where confluxes/gates are being overrun because you can spam loads of grenades to regain control of the situation and help your team Holding on to revive is just a crutch (and a total waste of a useful ability)

          • The only super which gets used regularly by me is my Titan Defender Bubble. When playing Warlock or Hunter I can go the whole Raid without activating it. Supers ain't shit.

          • Sunsinger gets self revive and more DPS in super. Void walkers only bonus is the void damage. Which if you are raiding seriously you are more then likely running void weapons or VoG weapons which more then enough cover that. The nova bomb is the only useful part and in the final fight it's actually much more damaging to crit him then spam your super. I don't see any reason to use a voidwalker in the raid unless you have him nuking the enemies inside the teleporters instead of a titan or someone with a rocket.

          • Sunsinger...self revive if your still getting used to raid (like me just tried it twice ever since destiny is online.) But if i got better was thinking to change self rez to song of light for better teamplay...except on atheon...switch to armor My only problem in voidwalker is the jump ability. I suck at blinking and gliding is not the voidwalker's specialty

          • The way i see voidwalker can do alot of damage but on hardmode selfrevieve is ju an extra life you know just in case.

          • I use Void only because I haven't worked on my Sunsinger at all (I don't wanna waste my time on a subclass that doesn't look fun at all).

            • There is also a benefit to using sunsinger in the raid besides self red though. Especially at the confluxes where you can use the unlimited grenades to hold off and create a barrier that the vex won't cross giving good reload time and catch up for someone who may be getting over powered.

            • On normal I'll use voidwalker. On hard I use voidwalker for some parts and switch to sunsinger because of the security aspect. But in terms of straight offense, voidwalker is def the way to go.

            • Voidwalker for certain. The main advantage for sunsinger is the self res. No other class has self res and it is really not worth it. Most of the time you could use your nova bomb and prevent a death, plus it destroys almost everything and actually provides more benefits to the team. Sunsinger basically only benefits the user where void kills powerful enemies and greatly benefits the team, especially in the Venus portal.

              • Sunsinger is so last month, just like the middle platform. Voidwalker wrecks them praetorians and hobs wiped out, and only thing relic holder needs to do is cleanse. Sunsingers is a defensive insurance in case you die, Voidwalker is an offence method to make sure you don't die in the first place. If your a good player use Voidwalker, if you think you are a liability e.g. 28 on Hard Raid then go Sunsinger.
