Am I ready to raid?
Once I've maxed my gloves and boots from IB I'll be 29 and a half. I do have Ghorn, but no where near maxed. I also have maxed Suros, HOPF and Vestment.
I've watched raid videos, so I feel I could give it a go on normal or hard, but I also struggle to find 5 friends to play with. (They all play MCC now)
What do you lovely guardians think?
Edit 1: I'm also a veteran at the halo games, so I can kill things easily. I'm also pretty good in crucible and in strikes. I struggle doing weeklies alone and night falls (unless an easy boss) I don't do.
Edit 2: I'm XB1 and only have one friend that likes the game and decent enough level. Raiding with people I know is a no go haha. God, I love this community at times.
Edit 3: Joined a clan of roughly 70 to raid, nightfall and weekly with. I think I might be balls deep in raid gear before I know it....damn you raid boots!

29 will be fine as a level but if you've never done the raid I wouldn't jump into hard mode try it on normal just to get a feel for what you need to do because it's not just kill stuff

Ready for Normal Mode. Get maxed weapons first and some experience on Normal before attempting Hard Mode. It's much less forgiving.

Primary: fully maxed Last Word Secondary: -1 maxed Praedyth's Revenge Heavy: -1 maxed Jolder's Hammer Armour light at 29, usually running with a hand cannon reload bonus and Crest of Alpha Lupi I do have Gjahl-launcher but I haven't touched the thing. Am I ready for hard raid?

1 ReplyYour more than ready, but I do ask, and I'm not saying you couldn't do it but.. Please please please do it on normal a couple of times before hard, just so you are more than comfortable with it.

3 RepliesYou will be fine. If you are on Ps4 and know anyone else who wants to do a run, I am planning one late tonight or tomorrow. I just need four more. Just need to coordinate times with people. I have done the normal raid many times and have done parts of the hard raid a few times.

29 is overkill for normal. Hardmode you should be ok with a decent group. If you want to find a group then go to recruitment and look for the threads about normal and hardmode. Usually doesn't take long to find a group. Max ghorn will get you into most groups.

Yea dude I did hard and normal raid on lvl29. Just get a good team. Maxed out weapons do help. My setup was MIDA, purifier VII and swarm switched to patience and time and unfriendly giant for aetheon. All level 300.

You'll be fine. I did normal mode on level 25 and hard raid on level 28. It's not that hard man. With your experience you'll catch on quick.

If you haven't done the raid I consider you do it on normal first since it's easier and you can be revived

Yes you can do the raid. It will not be easy, but that is how you learn. Post on this app for others to do the raid with. There are always groups looking for an extra person. Have fun with it.

1 ReplyYou are ready to face the VoG, guardian. Just do yourself, and your team, a huge favor and speak up/ask questions if you are confused or don't exactly know what to do. Definitely complete the normal raid at least 4-5 times before attempting the Hard Raid. Hard Raid is a b*tch and I would hate to see anyone new to Destiny Raid to get their souls crushed - it may leave a nasty taste and it may swear you off of the raid

1 ReplyNormal Mode: Yes you are ready. Maxed out Suros, and level 29 with Gjallarhorn is all set. Just bring some Void damage fusion rifles or snipers and you'll be good to go. Hard mode: It's possible, but I'd try to upgrade Gjallarhorn a bit more or at least some other heavy which is nearly maxed out.

3 RepliesYou absolutely need maxed weapons as a 29 on hard mode. You're probably more than ready to run normal several times at least. You're goal is to run normal without dying. Not flawless, just not wiping 5-6 times to get to next checkpoint. It's about learning what to do and where to be. On hard, you can't be revived, and with a 29 doing 3/4 damage, with max weapons, it's very difficult if a man goes down or a 29 is carrying the shield. My raid crew will run 4 lvl 30's and we switch out the 2 lvl 29's during our three first main runs. Doing this the last few weeks consistently, the only characters left to get to 30 are the few players that have just started making second and third characters within the last week or two. It's nothing about skill. It is possible for a team of 29's to beat Atheon, but it can very easily become a hair-pulling experience. If you really have a good team, with a good mix of weapons, except Gjallarhorn, can never have too many of those on a hard raid. With 3 fully maxed, our team has done Atheon in a single teleport in our best run. At most it takes 3, now that we've all completed it at least a dozen times on hard. Luck mate! It's about building that awesome raiding party, not beating hard as soon as possible. And like the new DLC commercial states, you can get in the new raid at 28, but being 30 does not hurt, lol
