Too Easy to Rank Up in IB 2.0

I thought it was far too easy to get to rank 5 iron banner this time round. While normally this would be a positive, it's a negative for me because there is nothing to distinguish those who did really well at iron banner compared to this who simply grinded it out for a longer period of time. I was rank 5 only 3 days into the iron banner. I found the bounties really easy this time round and the tempered buff was too strong. I would have preferred if Bungie had either made rank 5 more difficult to obtain so I could be a more special snowflake or even make it possible to rank up beyond 5. While rank 6 and above wouldn't allow for any new purchase, you could rank up and earn unique cosmetic items that showed how well you did in iron banner. Just wish bungie would implement rewards that showed off skill in pvp. There is gear exclusive to those who beat hard mode raid which shows off their pve skill. Would love something similar for pvp. Here's hoping in the trials of Osiris and IB 3.0 Bungie will take this into consideration. It Would promote more competition, give people something to strive for, and push people to improve. Edit: I forgot to mention the iron medallions. This also made it very easy to rank up. At least in IB 1.0 you were only awarded for wins. This made it at least bit more competitive. I understand it led to quitting but bungie should have punished quitters in 2.0 as opposed to rewarding them this time round.

  • 1) What was your rank in IB 1.0? If it was already fairly high, it would explain how you got to 5 so quickly. 2) 3 days is roughly half of the event time, so if you already had some rank and were playing a lot, I'd say that's about right. 3) Quitters weren't rewarded with medallions, losers were. They should stay, not only did it mean you weren't completely screwed by a loss, but it gave more motivation to win the next time.
