Weapons of the Dark: Main Post

So just imagine for one minute, that you're doing the Vault of Glass on Hard, and you've come across for the one hundredth time, that pesky Praetorian with that OP as heck Torch Hammer, and now you've probably thought for a few times before, why can't I have a Torch Hammer? Well, today I have an idea that could be fathomable as an easy to add DLC for the game. What if when fighting enemies of the Darkness, there was a very small chance, say 1 in 25000 that upon defeating a Major or an Ultra that they drop an Exotic item, and this item would be the start of some brand new Exotic Weapon Bounties called the Weapons of the Dark. And here's how I think it would work. Essentially, with an extremely small chance, when you kill the relevant enemy type, they will drop an exotic item (yellow engram looking thing ftw) and when you pick it up, you will be awarded a new Exotic Bounty (If you don't have any space, it goes to the mail). These will be difficult tasks that will end with either the rewarding of a new Legendary / Exotic weapon based on the weapon of the enemy. This would be very easy for Bungie to make because all of the weapon models are already there, so essentially we're adding 10 - 15 new guns to the game using content already on the disk. Since we've already implemented "evolving" guns with Necrochasm, why don't we expand this concept by having some of the stronger ones do the same. Note: Since there's quite a few potential "Weapons of the Dark", I've decided to split this into four separate threads, one for each faction of enemy. Feel free to visit each individual link below, and give this thread a thumbs up or your comments on what you think. Edit: Please post comments to this thread, and not the sub-threads. It makes it easier to keep track of things that way. If there's something you'd like to see changed or something that sounds a bit too much, make your voice heard here. I want to draw some attention to this as it sounds like it would be a great idea, not to mention it would give some incentive to be a "Treasure" hunter in a sense of the game's grindy nature. Edit 2: 1/1/15, I've overhauled this entire thread and all of the sub-threads. This idea is too good to waste away. Please spread it around and lets get some support behind it. I'm still looking for feedback on all of these items for fine tuning and balance to make sure we're making some cool new things that aren't over-powered at the same time.
