I've noticed that nobody seems to be using the team chat feature in the Iron Banner. Any particular reason? I figure a team that can coordinate their strategy has a much better chance of dominating a team that randomly runs around the map.

I hate talking. I just follow my team and everything works out fine. I talk all day and in raids. I don't really want to talk if I don't have to.

People got too accustomed to not having/needing it. I'd like to see more use but it took 2 months to show up and we all just use other methods. That being said, fireteam chat is completely broken and I have to use the PSN chat anyway. So screw it.
-
of I thought that was funny, everybody complains cause it's not in the game but nobody uses it lol

I've been using my mic in IB, and only a couple of times have I been able to work a strategy with a couple of players who also had mics. I heard people with theirs on, but the stuff I was hearing, wow, just kept my mouth shut. From a litany of racial slurs, to yelling and screaming, crying and whining, eating rocks I presume with all that noise. Some guy may or may not have been. ..pleasuring himself. .. The music blasting in the back isn't so bad, catch up with the latest tunes! But overall, it's quiet out there

One thing I hate about team chat is, there's always one guy that thinks he is the boss. I play for fun, so I don't really care for some dbag to tell me what to do. I try to stick with as many team mates as I can. That's what I'm gonna do every time.

Let's not get started on the team chat lol. No one every uses it and what's worse is that most people don't understand tactics in IB for winning. I hate getting on a team and watching them all run in a big circle from A to B to C and just repeat the process. Common sense would tell you hey we need to hold 2 of the 3 points to win. So you pick 2 and hold them. Problem also is that I don't have 5 good destiny friends to play with in IB. I just can't stress how much I hate loosing a match because people chase flags as I call it. It's like watching kids with ADHD bouncing off the walls. Sorry rant done.

Never heard a single person in the team chat. But for the most part I'm in party chat with my buddies
-
The game is rated teen, there's gonna be less people with mics.
-
I think this every time as well. But not sure if the chat doesn't work or if people just don't use it

I always have it on and I've noticed that barely anyone else does.... but I do run into a fire teams that have one or two other mics, our experience is a whole lot better we coordinate attacks as a team and usually dominate the other team by a far lead. as for echoing connects and crying children in the background I can all deal with, with everyone has families and a life and gaming is supposed to be fun not a f****** job.
-
Played IB for 2 days ranking up. Only ever encountered one other person who could talk. Also, you can use the Roster to see who is in a fireteam. They all will have a black bar connected to their names. Tends to save me the grief of being in a super one-sided game. If I see an IB lobby with a premade 6 person fireteam of 29s/30s I GTFO and find a new lobby.

Because whenever I go into game chat in any game, there is always someone echoing with the kinect, with crying kids in the background, having a conversation with someone else but still wearing the mic, eating, breathing loudly with their mic to close to their face, etc.

I agree, when i play iron banner, i already assume that my team mates are in party chat with their fire team or something already, that's why they don't want to switch out.
