Why you have to pay for the DLC, and how the gaming world is changing.

Many people are complaining about having to buy the DLC and how this game is ripping people off. I just want to let you know that it is not going to change any time soon for any game. Look at the price difference in games as systems progress. From the N64/PS1 games went from $20 up to $60 when the PS3/Xbox360 was released. For the PS3 Sony wanted to charge roughly $80 per game for a system that was originally being sold for $600-800. The PS4/XB1 came out and games stayed $60 yet they are costing more to make. NOTICE the new systems went for less than the systems before them started in price. I forget the numbers I read in an article a while back, but Sony loses a TON of money to console sales each release with a projection that titles will make back the money. I would assume Microsoft has the same issue. So back on topic it does not matter what game you play. Companies will be squeezing every dollar out of you they can. These games will make the company a lot more profit at $100 a title, but nobody would ever pay that for a game. So you start at normal price of $60 and add $20 every 6 months and boom you have your price of $100. Other games trying to use similar tactics are mostly cell phone games. Free to play but to unlock it's true content you will have to pay a price. GTA5 charges for in game currency. The money is pretty hard to get and the cars are expensive. All in all any online game and probably story based single player game will start following these trends because they have to rely on what people are willing to spend. Hook, line, and sinker. You would not have payed $100 for Destiny, but you might pay $20 2 more times once you are hooked. Destiny is not the first and it will not be the last. Just be glad it's not an MMORPG that wants $15 a month...
