It's ridiculous! Now that I have that out of my system, let's discuss. Destiny players enjoy a fantasy experience, but we also need a degree of realistic. That crap just don't happen in real life. Take it from a real life marksman. You have already nerfed non-precision damage to the point of worthless, so at least make it a believable experience for those who are "dome inspectors." End of rant! Players, what do you think?

Less camping = less crying this is Destiny not CoD remember that
-
I think its a good element to have. A small deterrent from having people hide in random corners of maps and camping people with sniper rifles. A good sniper will have you dead by the time you see the glow anyways. This is an indicator or where they are so if they are camping, you know where to head next.
-
I have started noticing snipers camping opposite spawn points and getting kills as people spawn back into the game if it wasn't for the glow it would be a real problem to get away from it. Best example is twilight gap a sniper goes up on the platform outside A and snipes over towards where the heavy ammo spawns outside C. When you spawn there its almost impossible to get away from instant death.
-
Even if it's not realistic it's not the point. It's suppose to add balance. And you mean to tell me Snipers are never at risk for sniper glare? If not then maybe they upgraded the scopes over the years. But it sounds like a very plausible thing to me. Without the glare in the game Snipers would likely rule. COD should honestly do this. Idk why they took it out the game.
-
Dumb idea. If you can't kill someone from far away with a sniper cuz of a "glow" and they kill you instead you are no marksman.
-
Just get a patience and time. Or whatever it's called. Problem solved.
-
I think it should have the flare when it's aiming at you, but not if its aiming elsewhere. Otherwise, finding/avoiding snipers would be a little too difficult. As it is, the flare showing in all directions makes it a major risk to look through your scope. When it's already a risk (unless you've got a radar perk).
-
Hmm 62% doesnt care...I think we're good
-
Cod 4 had sniper glow to prevent camping. Personally I say keep it in because sometimes it's hard to see people from long ranges. A way to limit the glare is to not have tunnel vision or scope for extremely long periods of time. Just scope in and out periodically. Works for me.
-
Get. Rid. Of. Sniper rifles. Go play CoD if you want to be a punkass camping b1tch.
-
First off, scope "glint" or "shine" is of course a real thing, but it's also easily fixed with honeycomb inserts. Pretty much eliminates that issue all together. So realistically, it's possible. The issue here is that the game basically puts a red flashlight on the end of your scope so everyone knows where you are. Scope glare is only detected if you're looking directly down the business end of the snipers scope. Hathcock anyone? http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Hathcock Now that that's out of the way, completely undetectable snipers would make open maps incredibly dangerous. Couple that with crouching to stay off local radar makes the issue very volatile. Everyone would scream "camping -blam-tard!!!" But I for one kinda like some realism in my PvP. I'm for it. It's no different than people squatting with shotguns. It's not a perfect tactic. Everything seems cheap if you love running around in the open in a snipers nest. So I say let the snipers have their day. Patience and Time and Hunters running stealth camo would be insane, but why not. That's their thing right? It wouldn't work on every map, and certainly we'd have to consider adding a radar ping when shots are fired (noise indicator?) to give players a chance at finding the sniper. But I agree, the red flashlight is goofy.

What a strange poll. No option to disagree with any of your opinions. You're wanting to make a game more realistic, a game that's set hundreds of years in the future with aliens and a giant floating ball in the sky, and you think a glowing light on a sniper rifle makes it unrealistic? Lol
-
If the glow was gone snipers would be to powerful. I love snipers and their fine.
-
Snipers scope glare when is hit by light.
-
Nerf the cliffs. Way op

Edited by Solospartan37: 11/24/2014 5:23:06 PMDon't care either way because if you can see the glow you probably won't survive unless the the guy behind the rifle sucks. If it honestly bothers you that much then just use PaT and you won't have to worry about it because you'll be invis with no glare. PaT gotta love it hahahha!
-
Umm you need to include an option for people who disagree with you.
-
Ok then snippets shouldn't be able to run around and snipping at the same time... You should always need to be on your belly with a good 4 - 5 seconds to take aim right? Honestly I don't understand why they put snipper rifles in these games, they are never really used as such.
-
That red glow gives me just enough time to know I'm about to die, or snipe them with my pistol if they're a bad sniper. I don't see a problem with it, but I'm not really a sniper.
-
Every single new fps has a way to track snipers. Battlefield 4 bullet trail, COD AW bullet trail and Destiny with the red laser. If you're good with a sniper it shouldn't matter
-
Pretty much the only reason they have it is so literally every time you spawn you can get a heads on warning before you're sniped in the face. At least it gives you a moment of "oh shit" and the possibility of moving out of the way. Sniper scope glare is a real thing, but not as pronounced as bungie makes it. If they reduced the glare, I'd be so happy.
-
Keep it, if you're a good Sniper that will be the last light they see..
-
I just want the option to have iron sites on my sniper that would be fun but I could see a lot of camping and PvP abuse.
-
If it wasn't there destiny would have way to many campers. Leave it its so destiny doesn't turn in to a campers dream.
-
Scope glint is real i have seen it in real life and it those happen in a battlefield so i say leave it
-
the game would be ruined without the glow
