If you're going to make the argument that they shouldn't vote because they're not educated enough, then you ought to restrict the majority of voters today that aren't educated enough to vote but still vote anyway. If you're going to make the argument children aren't tall enough to drop their ballot in the box, then they should be accommodated as per the disability act.
There's really no reason why kids shouldn't vote beyond the misconception that they're not educated enough to vote. Perhaps they are, but most adults are uneducated in politics too.
Please, I'd love to hear a counterargument.
-
Lol, I forgot about this. This is perfect for my technocracy arguments.
-
I believe that it makes people vote. If you have an age restriction then people want to do it. (alcohol age 21) Tons of kids kill themselves because of alcohol poisoning.
-
I think they only keep it older because you know more about the actual politic shit and nit everything they say which is all lies.
-
Do you want to watch the world burn?
-
Only legal adults should vote.
-
We don't need another Obama in office. Government is not a popularity contest like american idol.
-
Here, this'll solve everything. COMMUNISM
-
Where's the #satire?
-
Up to a certain age they're going to vote exactly how their parents tell them to vote. You're giving your parents extra votes, even encouraging people to have more kids, terrible idea.
-
How about you must pass a test on basic government knowledge?
-
A kid would simply voice their parents opinion, especially if they are under 13. I would leave it with adults.
-
Nope. They lack the mental capacity and years of experience necessary to make such decisions.
-
I disagree. Childre are most likely have no political knowledge and or be 'persuaded' by there gurdians. So it would be just a couple more votes for their parentel gurdians. So I would stick with the current voting system.

Edited by En inglés: 11/23/2014 3:23:12 PMVoting age is now 30. Below that age you are probably to in inexperienced to vote.
-
Kids will just vote whatever their parents tell them to. The parents with the most kids get the most votes. Those are the welfare families. You must be retarded.
-
Edited by Ryouji Gunblade: 11/22/2014 11:45:19 PMI do want the majority of voters today to not vote until they are educated enough. But, they ought to be given access to free education to pass the qualification.
-
Actually I think it would be fine to stop uneducated people from voting... I think you should at least have a rudimentary understanding of the constitution and stance of the politicians on various issues....
-
I agree that age is an arbitrary factor concerning the vote. However, I will say that you'd have a difficult time arguing for the right of a 5-year old to vote. All that being said, I think the right to vote should be severely restricted. It should be restricted to people with some skin in the game. People who pay taxes, people who own land, and their spouse if it's a single income household. That's it. A 15 year old wouldn't meet that criteria. Most people wouldn't. I would even go so far as to say that if you get a refund on your taxes that negates what you paid, you shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Trololol

Edited by Wishmint: 11/22/2014 5:28:07 PMEh. I don't give a damn. I never vote and probably never will. I don't think kids give a shit either
-
Only land owning white men should be allowed to vote. We make all the rules anyway. That's right! I said it. -blam!- Africa, Asia, the Americas, all of it. We are #1, baby! European Imperialism for the win. Gfto.
-
Next thing you know Channing Tatum is president
-
We don't need baby Jamarcus voting on whoever his parents told him to
-
I'm sure a 2 year old can grasp politics and make the right choice for our country .
-
Actually, the reason why they can't is because they aren't citizens until they turn 18.
-
Ur an idiot. The child will vote whatever their parent tells them to
