Halo 2 on Xbox Live?

I'm fairly new to PC gaming, I've always stuck with console but I'm learning more and more that PC's are far more superior to consoles and so I wanted to try Halo 2. Apparently you can play it online still on the PC? I haven't a clue. Anybody care to shed a little light on the topic?

 •
Posted by: Ikerzaz Thanks for the info guys. It's pretty sad to hear that matchmaking is dead but at least it still has a small community of players. I'll look forward to trying it out. Currently trying to learn how to build a gaming PC as I heard It's cheaper to build rather than buy.
There is a ranking system that has almost been finished that keeps the Halo 2 rankings from the Xbox but only on servers that support it. It tracks your stats too. Furthermore, there is an Co-op mod that enables you to play online co-op with up to 16 players but it's buggy however. Yeah building one is cheaper, make sure you're aware of the different sockets for the motherboards. Depending on your budget, we may be able to help. If you have the money, I recommend an i5 2500k, 8GB DDR3 and at least a GTX 560Ti or their AMD equivalents. That gives you room for overclocking and SLI'ing for extra performance. Of course that's just a suggestion and there are plenty of other great/better combinations for price.
