I'm curious as to why Destiny's Season Pass costs American players $35, yet costs English players £35. One Pound of English Sterling is currently equal to 1.57USD. Meaning that English users are being charged approximately £12.75 ($20) more than American players. I'm not going to bash the actual game, because what's the point? I'd just like an answer, or some form of justification before I purchase.
Needless to say, this is discriminating and alienating. I want to buy your expansions, I really do, but by charging $35 for your expansions you are saying: this content is worth £22.25, but I'm going to charge this select group of individuals more money for an unjustified reason. This is unfair, and will no doubt further tarnish Activation's reputation - and in turn Bungie's - Damaging future sales of both successors and future DLC.
Clearly the pricing of your DLC, and the current management of patches and content, has damaged your DLC's expected sales - hence the current release of the highly desirable Tumbler Sparrow and Iron Banner 2.0 - an exciting new piece of gear only available if you preorder the expansion(s), and recycled content to tide us over until you can sell us more. It is an awesome piece of kit, and no doubt it's boosted your preorder sales, but it's hardly a just apology or answer to this act of discrimination, but rather stands as evidence of your own acknowledgement of your shortcomings.
To clarify: I'm not asking for compensation - although I believe those that have paid the extra £12.75/$20 deserve to be. I'm asking for answers, acknowledgment, or at the bare minimum an apology. We - as people, consumers, and human beings understand that people make mistakes, but i currently feel I'm being deceived and if you want me - and many others - to continue investing our money into your games and content then you have to earn our trust and start dishing out the answers! Surely this can't be intentional?

Although I am not justifying the raise in price, this game is technically a US product and selling and shipping these goods out side of the US makes it susceptible to Import/export laws, taxes, tariffs etc. Even here in North America, US products tend to cost $5-$10 more in canada.

You might want to factor VAT into the conversion.

Isn't your country on an island? Wifi is expensive...

Yes you are. Bungie is holding a gun to your head and threatening to blow your brains out unless you give them your money.
-
Yes, yes you are. That's why you need to write the Prime Minister and demand that Britain adopt the US dollar. There is no other way, luv ya.

I would understand the definition of extortion before you go posting about it

Edited by Atamusk: 11/20/2014 10:34:20 PMPricing isn't up to bungie, so they won't likely be apologizing. I think part of the issue is that since the game is made in the US, its sale elsewhere technically makes it an import (trade law needs to move into the current millennium at some point) so tariffs and such apply, and as I recall, england has some nasty import taxes. Unfortunately, the pricing is likely more a function of government than anything.

Extortion would be if they were either forcing you or holding something against you to purchase it. And Im sure you gladly walked into the store and payed for it.

Why does this topic keep coming up? First of all, your taxes are included with the price. Second, the vast majority of American buyers have/will not pay only 35$. Our taxes are not included in the price, therefore, it appears that the cost of goods in the U.S. are cheaper.

Every currency is different for a reason and that reason is based on your economy our dollars might have less value or more value in this case I think the dollar has more value than the euro or a pound
