My thoughts on shitty IB teams.
I get tired. Tired of carrying kid after kid who can't even top 900 points or get above a 1.0 kd while I'm sitting at 4500 points by myself and at a 2.0-3.4 KD dragging these scrubs you call teammates along. All of this, just to lose the game and not be rewarded for doing as well as I did. Not to mention the fact that I did better than the top 3 kids on the opposing team combined. But still no reward, not even a victory simply because I am constantly matched with people who clearly lack skill.
I think that matchmaking should be determined by overall KD as well as overall PvP stats in that gametype. So the shitty kids can run in circles and blade dance around the map killing themselves while the people who actually want to play and have a functional team of cooperatively working players can play with and against players who don't suck complete dick.
Anyone else?
Edit 1: My KD wasn't 4.0 it was 3.4 sorry for that I over exagerated it. But for all the people saying I suck or I'm not as good as I say regardless of kd if you check my last 5 games I am first place on my team for the last 5-7 last games for points and the players under me are noticeably low for points and kills etc. Stay on topic this is not about me. Don't be rude.
Edit 2: [b]The iron banner is made up of 2 things, SUROS (OP) which is commonly used by those who cannot operate other weapons due to lack of skill, followed closely by shotguns which has never been a surprise to me. Golden gun also seems to be a favourite among the hunters as well. Good hunting![/b]

1 ReplyMy advice is just don't play crucible until they fix this shit. You basically get punished for being good and get matched with completely detrimental teammates, then have someone with a 0.06 kdr get Gjallahorn (this actually happened to me)

Thing with match making, your method iNt really "fair" and makes match makin obsolete. What fun and rational thought would it be to put all of the good players vs the sucky players? Split the team to have somewhat a competitive level.

Edited by docalvaran: 11/22/2014 9:42:41 PMfirst thing, i suck i know it. second thing that KDA was only 1 time and your average KDA is 1.8 we can see your profile just in case you don't know. my KDA is 0.7-8 i thing and still get to level 5 IB in 100-110 matches from rank 0. im just saying its not a big deal. you will get there anyway, just enjoy your game or just orbit. if it this game was match made using KDA 12 mins will past and no one will get to 20k points. majority of people who has 2.0-4 KDA are campers, just saying no hard feelings to whoever gets hit.

I suck at PvP on destiny, but I'm playing with the hope of IB armor. I hate shotguns, and currently using Atheons Epilogue to Collect bounty. I am averaging around a .6 k/d right now

Someone who has a 1.1+ k/d ratio MEANS someone else will be negative. We can't all be 1.0 + or higher, that is just not how math works. If you are doing well, it is at someone else's expense. This is true for both teams and all players. In all honest you should have a mentality you will only win 50% of the time. This is because of too many random variables. -teams skill -enemy skill That is 11 players or unknowns. They could be better or worse. And we just have to accept this and Try our best.

I read your post twice, just to make sure I understood what your point is. I can sympathize with you as we all know that the matchmaking is something that isn't working well. I would have to agree with using k/d as the determining factor when matchmaking in any of the crucible modes. The only problem with this is you might not get enough people in either a high or low k/d situation to put together a 3 vs 3 or 6 vs 6 game. I'm not very good in the crucible, but am trying to get better. What I do alot is try and follow those that play really well to see what they're up to. If you look at it from the standpoint that you could be helping people play better over time it might not be as frustrating. Plus, don't assume everybody that isn't up to par with your k/d is a kid because my friends and myself are all over 50. We suck and typically don't score over 500 for each round, but again, we're having fun and learning how to play in the Crucible. I'd love it if there were matchmaking that would pair 12 players with the same k/d as myself, but i'm just not sure it wouldn't result in alot of waiting for teams to be put together. Cheers

Yeah I understand even in regular games not even ib. It sucks trying to carry more than 2 people to victory even 1 person if the other team is good. I'm starting to feel like the only sure solution is to go into ib with a full fire team

B: All of the bad players KD would go up.....they would always be against bad players. C: Eventually most players KD would be about the same....because of math. D: Since all KD would be close...you would be matched with those bad players again!!!! YAY MATH!

Isn't the objective to win? Don't get me wrong I get pissed too, but we all have access/the chance to have these weapons, so even if they are being cheap shit heads with suros or pocket infinity or whatever weapon they choose, they just want to win. The thing that "boils my piss" as one of my English friends says, is the lag. I'll have stuck someone with a sunsinger grenade, then it explodes, then they kill me, and maybe 5 seconds later they die. Another thing is the respawn, how after I die, it takes 15 seconds or more for everything to load and let me back into the game whilst the enemy is taking control of the point I was defending

27 RepliesOr maybe people use the suros because it's one of the best weapons, if not the best weapon for PvP. People use that gun which makes them bad? Makes absolutely no sense at all same with using any other weapon or super in the game. The point of PvP is to kill the enemy team by any means necessary and just so happens that the suros is pretty damn good at accomplishing that feat, if you are really tired of seeing that weapon and loosing to it simple fix don't play PvP simple as that and to anyone who keeps saying that they own suros and doesn't use it because it's to OP is bullshit you know you use it as well as everyone who says they want to see it nerfed or tired of loosing to it would use it as well if they had it.

I agree. Idk how they matchmake but if i run solo my team just drops neg bombs all day. Then they get exotics lol. If your consistently at the top of leaderboards read this if not skip: Crucible matchmaking is ridiculous. We are forced to carry others constantly while trying to cap points get heavy and outslay opponents. Add idiot teamates going for the 3rd cap and flipping spawns then dropping a .5 kd no wonder its a rage fest. Matchmaking needs an overhaul or a ranking system to match competent players with other competent ones to avoid this issue. Im sorry but its not fun being #1 always in game and always losing. Its not fun to see my teamates who cause that loss get gjallhorn. Its sooooo annoying to me

9 RepliesYour example is literally impossible. There's no way you're gonna have more points than the top 3 on the other team while only getting 4500 points. Control matches in IB never go the full time and the other team needs 20k to clear the game. Even if everyone on the other team scored the exact same amount of points to get there they'd all have 3333. So at a minimum the top 3 on the opposing team is gonna clear 10k. But nice try to try to make yourself more important than your teammates and the other team.
