EDIT: bumped for 2015 Iron Banner
EDIT:Friday December 12th.
I saw my man Xur is selling upgrades for the weapons. It costs a TON of glimmer if you want
them all upgraded. I am guessing each week he will show different weapons and armor to upgrade. I just do not want some of you fav weapons left behind!
This video is about getting glimmer back for the Iron Banner. Same rules apply for Xur upgrades. You need glimmer!
It has been used as a long time. I am very surprised it has not been patched yet! A lot know about it and some do not. This is for those people. Good luck!

What the...who necrobumped this?!?
-
How do people not realize this? 1. Doors open. 2. Immediately run past everything ( I go right side ) 3. Second ship spawns as soon as you cross doorway. 4. Run to the rock formations. 5. 8 majors spawn. 6. Use super on first group. 7. Rocket second group. 8. Kill 1-2 adds to have super again. 9. Die. 10. Repeat. When you get good, the whole run takes 30 seconds with 400 per run. It's by far the fastest and most efficient glimmer farm I've found. A little math for you Run takes 30 seconds. 15 second loading screen. 45 seconds from start to start. 10 mins for cabal codes. 13 runs per code. 5,200 glimmer per code. That will take you from 0 glimmer to 25,000 in under 50 mins.
-
VoG Gatekeeper checkpoint 16 majors. Zero to max glimmer in 45min or less depending on axiomatic bead content.

I did this method for about an hour or so with good returns then had to leave and come back, when I came back, the mission had completely changed!, I had to fight a commander to get a key, then it ended. Also, this version of the mission allowed me to use my sparrow. However after a few repeated attempts to access the mission, the intro sequence played, and I once again spawned WITHOUT my sparrow. I believe there are in fact 2 versions of this mission. One designed for your first visit to mars, and one designed later for the black garden research. Long story short. If you don't get a ''welcome to mars" clip, then its loading the wrong version for the video.

Everyone, I found another awesome Farming method. It is on the mission the dark below(no it is not the glitch) And what you need to do is be on the level four version so enemies spawn more, and then do the black wax idol or whatever it is, then do the mission. Retry this until satisfied.
-
I don't get the point behind farming. What the hell are you guys buying that you are so broke that you can't buy Iron Banner gear, and why is it so difficult to get glimmer normally that you have to repeat the same boring activity over and over and over again to get it?
-
Before IB, I'd have to waste glimmer to keep from hitting the cap. Usually at the Cryptarch, buying junk engrams to inch my rank along. Now I want to sit my character by Lord Saladin with a tin cup and sign that reads, "Spare some Glimmer for a Fellow Hunter? I'm single and have a Warlock at home to feed" haha. At least the game's been throwing MoL's at me, so I'm still good there.
-
Why would you need to upgrade with xur anymore though? Just upgrade with the shard tf
-
The farm lives
-
Or you could have been stashing your housebanners and the like for the past few weeks. I have like 50k glimmer worth of those things in the bank right now, most of those come from the yellowbars in the raid.
-
Can confirm that standing far enough away is more efficient than double jumping. If you have icebreaker the splash damage just wrecks the whole pack in two shots. Reserve your heavy when IB needs to recharge. Profit
-
remember all the yellows in sword of crota? next patchnotes: reduced the amount of majors encountered in the mission Exclusion Zone to bring the difficulty in line with other missions on mars just tell your friends if you want to share this - no need to post it here I will blame you personally if my farming spot gets closed :D
-
-
I'm gonna do this to try and get the helmet and bond
-
Also- make sure you're all doing your raids and stocking up on ascendant/radiant shards! when HoW drops on May 19th- you can exchange 1 shard for 250 glimmer from The Speaker. 100 shards= glimmer cap, so start saving!

Thanks M8

OP; another great spot is on Venus. In the part where you spawn for the Nexus Strike (but you can just make your way there on Patrol), there's hordes of Fallen and Vex that are having a war. Just off to the left of the Nexus spawn point is a Patrol beacon. If you sit by the Beacon, pop an Ether Seeds and a Blue Polyphage, you can peg the hordes of Fallen and Vex and get shitloads of Glimmer per hour. They aren't yellow-bar enemies, but there's enough regular enemies to more than make up the difference. But then, if you get that message that the enemies are moving against each other... the issue takes care of itself. :D

doing it right now as I type, have to have some way to buy all 6 armor pieces for my 3 characters
-
i love how gold spiral will look like shit for everyone besides the warlock.
-
Some of the new ones many guardians may not know.

Edited by disfunkzional_: 2/23/2015 10:37:05 PMThis was very helpful. I just ran to the majors and skipped the rest like described in the comments. Even at level 22 if you want to xp some equipment, it's a breeze. An AR will drop 2 to 3 of them /mag and supers/rl will clean most if not the whole pack at once. Cheers
-
Lol it won't be patched because the bungie devs use this spot too
-
A little tip if you run out the door on your second spawn then start killing everything the second ship will spawn faster. You'll earn glimmer a bit faster.
-
What a horribly crappy way to farm glimmer. Pop ether seeds on venus and do the double jump room respawn. 500+ glimmer every minute
