PSA for those of you running multiple XBO's in Destiny

Running two Xbox One consoles on one router might cause some problems for at least one console as your router struggles with UPnP. Some routers will have no problem with this; for example, users report that the Netgear Nighthawk supplies stable Open NATs to both consoles. Most routers will provide an Open NAT to one console and a Moderate NAT to the other. In this configuration, one user will often get sporadically punted back to orbit. Note that port forwarding or port triggering are not solutions for multiple consoles as they will only communicate traffic to one IP on your network. Furthermore, placing one console into a DMZ and the other assigned with port forwarding will also create headaches. So what can you do? 1. Buy a router that has confirmed multiple console support. Note that YMMV with this list. The Nighthawk is a top contender. 2. Try assigning static IPs to your consoles in the router (but leave the consoles IP setting to "Automatic) 3. At your own risk, install DD-WRT firmware to your router (note: you should be an expert to attempt this). It occasionally provides better UPnP support than stock. 4. See if your ISP will give you multiple IP addresses, and if so, use a switch behind your modem to give each console its own IP Good luck, guardians! I struggled with this one for a while before arriving at option #4 myself.
