Ability to lock items, accidental dismantle

Let me start off by saying, I know there is a timer when dismantling anything. I get that it is there so we are sure of what we are dismantling. However, when you get done farming materials and have all 9 weapon and armor slots full of greens. It isn't hard to accidentally dismantle something you didn't intend to. That's why it would be great to have the option of locking certain weapons to prevent this. While in the start menu, there are plenty of keybinds still available for this. Such as left or right click of the stick, or 1 of the 4 buttons on the dpad while hovering the icon over the item. Since Bungie will not restore items or characters, I feel that this is necessary as we are all collecting guns and would like to carry them on us without the fear of accidentally deleting them. With that being said, please show support of this by commenting with what gun/guns you have accidentally deleted. I dismantled my fully upgraded corrective measure and am pretty bummed about it. 😔

  • Bump. I completely agree. I like hauling all my exotics on my characters for use in different situations but sometimes, in the throws of deleting a never ending cascade of useless greens and blues I sometimes get sloppy with the dismantle button. It happens. Just give us a way to lock our good stuff. Also on an unrelated note I'd like a way to organize my vault. Call it OCD but whatever it's just how I operate.

  • Bump! I dismantled my fist Strangers Rifle just like you describe. I had to earn it again which I did - but have been paranoid about it ever since. Your idea is most appreciated by me.

    • Slow. Down. The less time bungie spends in idiot proofing, the more time it has to spend on actual impactful improvements.

    • I agree with this, after deleting a fully upgraded queens piece early on. Now, that exact article isn't a big deal right now, but at the time of the queens event it was my only fully upgraded piece of legendary gear and I loved it. It leaves me baffled as to why dismantling any piece of gear goes much much faster than if I were scrapping a ship or a sparrow. The "timer" on these progresses at such a slow rate. These types of items offer nothing when discarded, yet it seems they're more failsafe. However, I will also agree with one of the replies before mine.. So much else in Destiny needs a patch that I'd rather be more cautious with my dismantling than wasting a much needed fix on this.

    • I read the title of the thread and, yes... How in the hell did this not make it into the game, Bungie?
