IMO, even in the wake of MCC's obvious couldn't-give-a-f*ck cash grab launch, Bungie still screwed up worse, for the simple reason that Destiny is fundamentally a bad game, while MCC at least has the potential to get back on track with patches.
-
That's a tough choice. Because both screwed up in different departments. 343 Remastered games. Can't even make multiplayer work when these games have already been released! Split screen is terrible for online. The achievement issue drives me nuts. The game randomly crashes and in co-op you have to restart the mission. Bungie New game. Destiny was interesting...was. The final product was not what I was expecting. The story is nonexistent. The constant grind for no reward. Personally not my style. So for me, it was a big let down. So who is worse? Remastered games that barely work, crash and no online. Or, a new game that didn't live up to expectations? Hm...
-
It's hard to say. I am angrier at bungie for misleading us and cutting content, as well as making a series of dumbfounding decisions. On the other hand, the MCC was obviously broken and missing features. A lot more testing should have been done before it was ever released. But 343 seems to be making an effort to fix these problems instead of fixing non-issues. So I'd say bungie screwed up more.
-
Bungie. At least Halo will be fixed in an update, but on top of that, delivers what was promised in it's package. Sorry, not sorry. I'm not paying to move forward in the insanely boring, short story Destiny had.
-
>voting for 343i >not realizing that multiplayer will be fixed >not voting for Bungie >not realizing that Bungie released a game that is finished yet unfinished, and is planning to make everyone pay out of the ass >not realizing that the Crucible is broken in every way
-
Microsoft. Literally everything they have done recently is utter garbage.

Edited by AlphaMerc1: 11/20/2014 7:34:55 PM*343 Remastered 3 games they did not make Broken MP at launch, to be expected, but a week and still no patch? Wtf Limited options in playlists Coop lag...still Halo 4 MP lol Lack of spartan customization Bungie Lolstory Lack of characters Useless venders Grind fest Lolcrucible Hot fixes that break PvE Lack of a chat system for the longest time DISC LOCKED CONTENT No real customization Constant disconnects False promises Both are very fun to play. MCC for nostalgia and Destiny as an RPG. MCC will get fixed but its mostly the same as what we've played before. Destiny has fantastic gameplay and that's the only thing holding it afloat. Sorry bungie but you screwed the pooch here.

The only way bungie -blam!-ed up was by handing off halo to 343. 343 has ruined halo for me. The only reason people bought MCC was for halo 2&3 (bungie made games) nobody even cares for halo 5 beta. That just goes to show how epic and awesome bungie halo is that 10 years later their remake still sells. 343 just doesnt know how to handle and maintain a -blam!-ing glorious gaming franchise. Bungie never had matchmaking Issues like this especialy on a game launch. Bungie paved the way for 343 to shit all over it. All they had to do was stick to the original halo concept. Its what made halo halo.its what people grew to love halo for and now idk what the -blam!- it is. Thanks 343 for -blam!-ing up halo. Give it back to bungie and rename your halo titles.

I would never say Destiny is terrible. It could, like any game, be better, but it's campaign is no shorter than many other titles. I think too much focus was put into graphical detail when other points aren't as fleshed out (which makes me wonder if the standard three year development time is sufficient for modern games. An argument could be made that story quality has dropped inversely proportional to graphics quality in many games). MCC is just bad. The content was already established and all one had to do was connect it together and update a few graphical elements. Looking at how many functions maintained their source format between games (forge budget differences in reach vs halo 3, for example), I can't comfortably assume that much of the game is original work. Since that's the case, and the game was still full price, I'm curious as to where the budget for this project went, cause it sure as hell didn't get earmarked for the testing department.

343i have messed up with pushing the MCC launch for the Christmas period and date Halo 2 was originally released. However these issues can be rectified, and barring these problems I have already had a lot of fun playing. In my eyes Destiny is a much, much bigger disappointment, I was so looking forward to Destiny and unlike some of the haters I have played it a lot. The fact the story is missing and to find out wtf is going on story wise that you need to use the app and buy the DLC is unforgivable. Whether Activision's doing or not Bungie signed the contract and that's the last game I will be buying from them unless they sort themselves out. Note: still here due to Halo community before Desticle attack ensues. And no I and we are going nowhere.
-
Bungie is definitely the screwup. At least I can understand 343 overlooking the sever issues, SINCE THEY ARE PUTTING ALL EFFORTS INTO HALO5. But for bungie there is no excuse for a supposedly hybrid mmo with no content. I have no problem with the grinding but damn we needed more maps more missions more strikes and raids and story from the BEGINNING. Anyone who doesn't realize this Is not a gamer.
-
I love Destiny, but thinking about it could have been put me over the edge. Bungie.
-
I can at least play Destiny's multiplayer.
#ShotsFired Neither of them -blam!-ed up, if you really expected the MCC to launch without server issues or for Destiny to be a flawless game just because Bungie's name is on it then you've got your head in the clouds.

Edited by Un1337ninj4: 11/13/2014 10:52:52 PMEh, I'd say they -blam!-ed up about evenly. They didn't make MCC, them and not one, but TWO outsourced teams and a small division of 343 worked on it. Along with H5's current outlook... I'm losing faith in 343I I never knew I had. Bungie hasn't screwed up all that much, the real bane is them teaming up with Activision. They couldn't make this game with nor without them however and it's a good gate-way game into what one can expect in many PC titles.
-
I can at least play Destiny's multiplayer.
-
Edited by Green Twister: 11/20/2014 2:56:49 PMBungie because 343 only took after Halo Reach because it was their latest title and that made them go down the wrong path.
-
-
343 hasn't screwed up, Bungie has. The answer is obvious.
-
Easy Choice. 343 added everything we wanted to forge except nuclear bombs, plus a great remastered Halo 2 Campaign. Bungie forgot to add a story. What sounds better to you?
-
Well at least Bungie isn't destroying by my favorite game series. Halo 5 beta gameplay looks terrible. It's like CoD or Titanfall now, it won't even feel like Halo.
-
Edited by CharlieAlphaSeve: 11/20/2014 11:46:46 AM343 successfully port the halo campaigns without many bugs. The multiplayer is very buggy but can be fixed with a TU. Halo 4 was mildly fun, just had a terrible multiplayer Bungie created a game with great core mechanics. But sadly you have to wait, then pay for everything else, either that or you can continuously do the same thing over and over again. Bungie screwed up bad with Destiny, that can't be fixed soon. Edit: and I won't determine anything about Halo 5 till I play it.
-
You forgot to put Activision up in your poll.
-
If people voted bungie over 343 you're seriously retarded. Lol wow
-
....But.....MCC is resting on the laurels of Bungie's past success. So....really.....Bungie still wins.
-
Bungie siding with Activision is the big screw up here. I hated how they handled the CoD series and I'm starting to feel that way about Destiny. I liked Halo 4 and I love the MCC so 343i wins in my opinion.
Yes I know Bungie is responsible for 80% of the content in the MCC. I've been fragging Covies since 2001.
-
I really hate to say this, especially since Bungie helped us out a ton today with the #recruitment stuff. But they really bunked up Destiny by signing with Activision. Not only was the game released earlier than needed, we also have to pay for crap already in the game. So really, I should say Activision for messing up a great company.
