Level 30 is luck not skill!
anyone else agree that even if you play amazingly or shitly it makes no difference to what gear you get and not enough chances per week to raid
This comment I have added in due to so many responses, and because of the few level 30s that disagree with me because they clearly have never played any mmo's before especially ones with a raiding system!! if you are one of the 30's that thinks it is pure skill you are a joke, look down most the people who agree with me are level 30 also!!!! there are more level 30s who agree than 30's who don't, over 90% of the people in the game know it is luck.
but oh of course level 30 is the elite squad for the chosen few,
also just saying love the level 30's that can take a joke aswell! thank you all hail to the chosen few! pray to RNGesus to be so lucky we bow down to your elite power and luck :D

Oh Bungie if your listening please let us do the raid more than once a week on each difficulty!!!!!

It's a bit of both really, if you don't have skills no one will raid with you or you won't finish the raid, and luck only applies after the skill was used to kill the boss.

4 RepliesI completely disagree with all this and actually im starting to get bored by you crying guys.. I havent seen anyone 30 level out there crying when they used to cheese Atheon and get those raid gear.. [b]Was there any skill involved?[/b]? Please.. I havent also seen anyone crying when they got something they didnt deserve and thats happened to all of us at some point of the game one or more times.. Hell yesterday i ranked last on a crucible game and i got a "[b]monte carlo[/b]" ! What should i do give it back to Bungie? If the cost for this is that i have to do ten raids before i get something exotic again or some raid gear then so be it.. I had one week where i got 3 legendary weapons and 2 exotics and i had 3 weeks when i didnt get nothing.. So? As for the skill issue.. You get rewarded for actually proceed through and complete the Raid.. So thats all the skill u need.. If you do the same thing ten times or if you do it thirty its not about skill anymore since you know how to do the raid and you actually do the same thing over and over...its about time ... I saved myself a lot of time by exploiting glitches, cheesing things or be rewarded things i didnt skill-deserved so if i waste a little time on another part of the game like the Raid its fine by me.. You must understand that this is a game trying to focus on [b]WE [/b]rather than [b]ME[/b]..[b] WE[/b] must win a game at Crucible so [b]WE[/b] can have better reward chances, WE must complete a raid etc..and thats FUN for me.. Its not about your selfish ego - " [b]oh i have 20 kills i dont care if we [/b][b]lose the match give me something legendary[/b] " or " [b]oh i have killed enemies with 100 headshots at the raid give me the exotics let others[/b][i] burn[/i] " etc.. Thats why you all cry! You want to rub your shiny armor in other peoples faces and you dont even care how you get there.. If you could have all the raid gear by completing the raid 4 times by cheesing Atheon you would be fine with that.. You wouldnt stay in the game you would cry for the lack of content and that would be the end of the story.. Maybe that would be better for the rest of us.. Just so you know im level 28 almost 29 and i play since day one this game came out.. Cheers

People have rolled 3 of the same class and have raided 6x a week for weeks. Many of these players are still just 29. Bungie's vision was for a player to finish VoG 2x. These people gaming the lock outs have simulated months of VoG clears in a matter of weeks. The results showing that the if playing legitimately you have a less than %2 chance at reaching 30 before the dlc. That is a completely broke(or too strict) rng.

4 RepliesMaybe you can help me with this, what happens with those of us that do not know enough people to go on a Raid (please tell me where to go to get on a team if there is a place) . When the level goes to 32 and we cant get to level 30...is the game over for us ?? .

3 RepliesI have 36 raid completions and will do normal and hard later tonight to be at a total of 38 In those 36 completions I have yet to even see raid hands for my hunter drop or raid legs for my warlock Like seriously? This isn't monster hunter with 1% drop rates and at least in monster hunter I can't fight a boss once a week to TRY and get his drops. I know the point of the raid is to have diligence and luckily one day get the gear u want. But I've gotten at least 5 I of every raid item BUT hands. I've even gotten 3 fate bringer today.... Come on son

I disagree with some of these sore losers that keep complaining about RNG. If you've played any MMO's, it's virtually the only way to earn anything. It's a grind-fest. Whether, you are grinding for rarely dropped materials, so you can craft your ultra-exotic/ rare armor, or you are farming hard bosses/ world bosses for the armor itself, it is completely RNG. As far as Destiny, though, YES! It kind of sucks that you have to raid, wait a week, raid, wait a week... that is pretty bad. You should be able to get turnouts from raids as often as you are completing them, like any other raid/ dungeon, in any other MMO. I will admit, I was lucky. I had completed a few Atheon boss fight checkpoints, before I had actually gone through an entire raid. The very first normal mode raid I completed, I got a full set(minus the helmet). After we defeated the first set of Oracles just before Templar, I got shards, I believe...then, after defeating Templar I got the boots, and after the gatekeeper I got the gloves and Atheon, the chest piece. It was a perfect play. Everyone in my group had been raiding for weeks for even one piece of armor and they were appalled at me. I had some seriously bitter teammates after that...even, just after my first piece they were like, "NO F'N way dude?" In that disgusted tone..."I just got shards!" most of them said. Then, after I got the second piece people were like, "dude! WTF?????" then, after I announced my third piece, after we killed Atheon, they all pretty much cursed their billionth Aspect of Glass and Chatterwhite and left...except, for those who already had gear. As for my raid helmet, I got the Facade after my second hard mode run through, which was literally just two weeks after my first normal mode raid.

Make another character and switch gear. And as the drop system is luck and I really hate the rng it takes skill and a good team that works well together to get the helmet

Reaching level 30 is entirely luck based. (Before people jump down my throat let me explain) You could be raiding like crazy with multiple characters be the best on the raid by getting the most kills and doing your role flawlessly. yet the loot could go to the guy that joined just as you are dealing the last few hits to Atheon on hard. Why I say this because that happened to me AND my brother. He got the Mythoclast on the only time he joined a hard mode raid and like me we just joined to help out a few friends because 2 people left at the last fight. I got a helmet, Hezen vengeance, and the shader and ship in the same fashion. We did not even get to shoot Atheon at all. I just opened a portal once and he killed one of the supplicants. We lucked out while my friend got crappy materials already had. I totally love the look of the game and how the gameplay feels, on the other hand the loot system is too luck based to feel right and the story really sucks major balls.

9 RepliesThat's not fair how you say that. I grind raid for 6 weeks straight on 3 hunters, that took dedication and skill. I've been 30 for 2 days now and getting a warlock and Titan to 30 hopefully. This takes skill so please don't put the people who worked for 30 down..yeah some get better stuff than others, implying that they don't deserve it is just awful..

2 RepliesLevel 30 isn't complete luck due to the fact that you can't get raid gear unless you actually do the raid so therefore by completing certain parts of the raid by using your skill you are then rewarded with a reward that is chosen at random. Now I'm not saying that level 30 is in luck because it is but it is also not complete luck

2 RepliesSpoiler alert u can make 2-3 of the same class character and run the raid up to 6 times a week, also iron banner 30 light gear will make 60% of the game lvl 30 so it's not a big deal

1 ReplyIf they would just tweak the raid loot drops we could get gear for the work we do. Ive been lucky and have 2 30s and a 29. All three are warlocks. Still im grateful for what i have. It has been a long journey. About 18 raids for one 30 warlock.

1 ReplyDestiny in general doesnt take skill, just a lot of play time. I've met level 30s that can carry an entire team through the raid in 60 mins, and others that start screaming "HOW DO I CLEANSE" when they get the relic.. you could teach a monkey how to play destiny.

i tried to get a raid party for the first time today,pretty much a joke when you dont know anyone nobody knew what to do thats why im here,but all i an seeing is a bunch of bithching about level 30 i have been level 29 6 times had no idra about the raids till today. i guess i will be stuck at 29

1 ReplySame as with people who claim that people who got exotic weapons through rng didn't earn them. Same for lvl 30s and their equip. Just shut up about this and start boycotting this game so the Dev gets some kind of punishment. Get peeps to stop playing crappy peeps like this games.

6 RepliesI have two 30s now. I'm pretty good at the raid on both difficulties, but my first character with over 8 days of play time just on him, hit 30 literally today. So its not really related to skill or time played at all. Its is absolutely rng. The only skill involved is the ability to get at least 1 drop out of the raid a week. And get lucky.

Edited by UglyDoug: 11/15/2014 2:17:40 AMThe need to grind for gear isn't much of a problem. The need for levels after 20 to be from gear isn't much of a problem. The fact that the raid is the only way to get 30 isn't much of a problem. the fact the raid can only be done once a week isn't much of a problem. Add all that together though and you have a VERY big problem.
