Destiny’s Fan-Based Revolution DISCLAIMER: Grammatical errors and punctual mistakes impending. Reviewer discretion is advised. Please read at your own risk and enjoyment. Introduction: Destiny is a beautifully designed game and for that I say Thank You to Bungie, the Development Team, and to everyone else who helped in its production. From mind blowing backdrops and scenery to the seamless dynamics of a first person shooter, I love this game. The transition from PVE to PVP is one that I’ve never experienced before in an FPS and it is FAN-TASTIC! A huge variety of weapons, perks, and armor makes this game a blast to play. With this game being as great as it is, both the community and myself are asking for more! We want an immersive story telling experience and detailed explanation behind the world that was created for us. This post was created to inspire ideas and to help the Bungie’s Development Team discover what Fans truly want from a game. The following ideas have been marinating in the brains of Guardians all across the world. I have compiled a list of what I think will make the future of Destiny brighter, more action packed, and more legendary. After all, we’re all here to become legend! Summary: General Improvements, Game Modes, and Other Implements. These are ideas that I, Aahed King Zing, came up with. My influences have been from the community, friends, and from gaming for several years now. From surveying players far and wide for several months now, these ideas seem to be greatly desired by the community. General Improvements: • Hotkeys for ammo synthesis. Using the Back button combined with the D-pad, Guardians will have quick access to refilling their ammo during battle. • Looking For Group LFG banners, Looking For Raid LFR banners, to display in the Tower that you are looking for a group. • Specialized synthesis for race types. Armor piercing rounds for Cabal, Emp rounds for Vex, Plasma infused rounds for Fallen, and Explosive rounds for Hive. • More Human weapon models. Adding some M4s, M16s, M248s, and other weaponry. • Weather patterns. From rain and snow to hurricanes, tornadoes, and lightning storms. I want the world to be a dangerous place! If I die to a tornado I’d be all about that! • Random enemy spawns with named bosses in Patrol areas. • Some offensive and defensive Ghost capabilities. Put him on Tase mode where he’ll stun enemies with a quick shock to the system. Put him on Blind mode and he’ll disorient enemies with a bright light. Anything that will put this little guy to use in battle would be awesome. • Mini games incorporated into Public Events. For example, a Fallen Walker is deployed. Guardians first choice is to use BULLETS! Or, they can use a trip cable, emp, and then plant a bomb and the brain! • Adding some AI NPC Guardians in Patrolled areas. Lots of health, really low damage, fighting in groups kind of thing. Something to add an element of urgency in these areas. Game Modes: • Patrol: Artillery Strike o A fireteam controls a three man cannon. With one spotter, one gun operator, and one perimeter defense and threat detection. The team dismantles enemy forces by placing precision strikes into the heart of the enemy’s forces. Positioned on the walls of patrolled areas the team provides support for players doing patrol missions. The team can complete challenges and rank up with skill increases. They can gain bonuses from killstreaks and from comboing effective strikes. The players can gain both permanent and temporary skill increases. When the team fires upon friendly units the cannon loses some of its durability and begins to break down and the team starts losing their benefits. After several friendly fire strikes the machine explodes and then has a 30 minute respawn time for that fireteam. • Monday’s Sky Fortress o A flying artillery strike from a larger Mothership that is only available on Mondays. Fortress fighter aircrafts can be deployed in the mode: Airborne Division where players will be able to decimate the playing field with these tactical fighters. Or, use the Fortress’s tactical stealth suit deployment to sneakily eliminate the enemy. • Patrol: Extermination o Guardians gain access to mech suits and fight against waves of hive borrowing up from deep within the Earth. The mech suit will have a multitude of special abilities, all randomized for the event, and even a mech super ability. Players will be able to enter, exit, repair, and upgrade these suits as they deem necessary. • Patrol: Invasion o Invasion brings forth increasingly difficult waves of creatures. This mode will bring rarer loot to patrols, named enemies, and rare named weapons. Survival at its finest. • Anti-Air Mode: o Prevent an offensive alien strike by using AA cannons in patrolled areas. If 10 or more ships land the Guardian must prepare for a ground assault against the enemy. During this assault the Guardian can board enemy ships to raid their loot caches. If the Guardian makes it to the heavily fortified armory ship they will have access to increased chance at ultra rare loot and special weapons. Other Implements: • New vehicle types and group transportation! Brining back lunar rovers with mounted turrets, three or more seats, and other offensive capabilities. o Sparrows: Faster super sonic boosters for travelling at ludicrous speeds. If you even graze something you’ll explode into little pieces. o Speeders: A fast and agile sparrow equipped with dual weapons in the form of machine guns, plasma cannons, or flak missiles. o Scouts: Ultra fast and ultra delicate flying ships for accessing a new verticality of missions. Hover to sniping positions or those oddly placed chests on Venus. o Razors: Designed for ramming and plowing through mobs of enemies. • New types of patrol missions. Or, being able to accept more than one at a time. Combining a kill order with a data uplink and scan. • Ambushes with high level creatures taking over areas for a period of time. For example, a group of level 30 Ultras and Majors take over an area in the Cosmodrone for a while. Lower level characters will have to be extra careful until high level characters eliminate the threats. • Enemy tactical assault forces. For the Hive, they’d have a mass of Knights, Ogres, and Thrall. I mean 10+ Knights, 6+ Ogres, and 50+ Thrall. I’m tired of “a band of roving pikes” being two Dreg. I want 6 or more pikes with aggressive attack patterns driven by Majors. • Heavily defensed enemy walls equipped with turrets, bombs, named Ultras, and vehicular support. I want to fight my way passed a heavily reinforced blockade. • Killstreaks in Player Vs. Environment encounters. From bombing runs to advanced weaponry and supply drops. How about some grenade launchers, railguns, Hive spike cannons, and flak launchers. Time to bring out the big guns! • Deployable traps other than the Hunter’s Tripmine grenade. For example, tesla coils, assault drone swarms, or even a three man AI NPC guardian support strike team with customizable class, weaponry, and behavior. You could be assisted by three cloaked Hunters providing sniper support. • Customizable ghosts, shaders, ships, and more. • More cut scenes with Ghost accessing data links, secret cut scenes with detailed plot explanation. • EASTER EGGS! Consoles with commands, multiple triggers, and hidden mini games. Again, Thank You Bungie! I appreciate everything that you've given the community and hope that you'll keep on doing what you're best at. Regards, Gt: Aahed King Zing Jubal Jones
