So, thank you for reading this in advance. I will have you know that this is not a rant, it is simply one person's stance on raid matchmaking.
As Bungie stated in a previous weekly update, the raid is meant to be completed by groups of friends who have coordination and ridiculous skill. However, Bungie also acknowledges that fireteams have met each other at the door of the vault, grouped up, fought together, and won. I would like to make a point that that is basically matchmaking, just far more manual. If you see what I'm saying, that happens, so why couldn't matchmaking work?
Thank you for reading. I sincerely hope Bungie sees this, and considers the idea. The reason that I bring this up is that I don't have 20 friends, and I don't have time to waste half a day looking for a fireteam.

For a while I had that stand point on the raid matchmaking but the more I play the raid the more I realize that a good team is not easy to come by and playing with randoms would be a challenge but never the less matchmaking should be in there

I agree with both sides of the argument (coming from WoW I know how bad unorginized pugs can be) I would love to see matchmaking for vaults of glass but as much as I hate to admit it, it would be very frustrating. I do back the fact there needs to be an in game lfg system. I don't care what anybody says the forums and other out of game tools are a pain in the ass and i don't have a large social network in the game.

Yup, exactly what I've been saying. The forums are just turning into Craigslist personal ads. "VW 29 ISO SH for VOG LVL 27+ only" Some sort of in-game notification that you could activate to show you're looking for a raid group, that lets you know when a group is looking to add an extra guardian. Also getting kicked to orbit to join someone you meet planet side running a daily is ridiculous. Designate a "this guardian is doing the same mission you are" color for gamertag and allow seamless "join fireteam" via R3/interact menu. Unique chapter instances shouldn't require a reload if both guardians have already loaded that story mission separately and then want to team up.

Heres a post I made with a solution to for the Matchmaking problem. http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/77566342/0/0 My personal stance is that something should be done about people who don't have the networking skills to find a group of people to raid with regularly, or the time. I know work often gets in the way of one or two of the people I prefer raiding with. On the flipside, the chance of a Lv 25 or 26 getting thrown in is too high to take matchmaking seriously. The randomness of the teams coupled with people unable to listen or work together would cause many to just Rage quit. Leaving most people in a no win situation time and again. While my idea isn't perfect (and likely not doable in reality, on paper its nice), it provides Team leaders with the chance to view a potential recruit before having him take up a slot on the Fireteam. Anyways, I hope they do something.

Edited by MoistBod: 11/9/2014 12:23:01 AMI mean, Yeah. Matchmaking is just another OPTION to give players who don't have as many friends and don't feel like going off the game to google some random forum to group up just to do the End Game. So I feel as though it should always be an option Also you can than make friends from matchmaking especially now that they are adding more more chat options soon it would be perfect.

Bump. Sorry for doing this, but I really want this to be seen.

Sigh... Bump again. Come on, people, I need to know that this is being heard.
