The road ahead seems to only grow longer with each days passing. At night as I lie awake, I can't help but gaze up at the stars, wondering if we will ever reach them. Father says Berlin is only a couple more days walk but he hasn't been himself lately and I wonder if he knows where we are. Sister, mother and I have no choice but to stand by him and follow his judgment. The changing colors of fall remind me of how beautiful this place used to be
