To all you 1337 Raiders - those of you who do it all day every day, again and again... Give us noobs a break, eh? Again yesterday I was invited into a team in VoG. It was the Templar bit. "Cool", I thought, "I know this bit, piece a cake". But no, this team did it differently to the way I knew. It's not a problem - I'm highly adaptable. I'll watch what others are doing and I'll work it out. It's no big deal if we wipe - the team had only just restarted as I arrived. However, the guy 'in charge' is mumbling something at me. I can't hear him. I don't have a headset so he's not piped right into my ear - the sound comes through the TV. Unfortunately the sound of bullets, lazers, screams ... all coming through the TV too. I can't hear him. He's mumbling and getting angry (but still too quiet - try shouting next time). I hear, just about, the words "...ten f**king seconds..." followed by a lot more swearing. Sure enough, ten seconds later I'm in orbit. I'd been in there about 30 seconds before someone decided the world was going to end if they didn't boot me ASAP. This isn't the first time that's happened. - It's only the second, to be honest, but it's still annoying. What's the absolute worst that can happen eh? The team has 1 player who's not yet sussed what the plan is. Even a wipe means a restart to the point we were at ... 60 seconds ago? I'd have caught up in another half a minute, if he'd just been louder. I've played VoG once from the start, and unfortunately had to leave by the start of Atheon. I've played Atheon seperately half a dozen times without success, although it's always been on Hard - am yet to be invited to Easy. So, you raid pro's - have some patience eh. It's no big deal if you restart - after all, you just restarted so it's not like there's a ton of progress lost. At the very least, explain what we're doing in the damn lobby! EDIT: Thanks guys – some great responses to this post – and some d1ckish responses too. It seems I need to clarify some points – not because I’m being defensive but because so many people have responded with certain comments they need clarifying. 1. These people that kicked me from their group… THEY WEREN’T SOLDIERS! These people WEREN’T strategically placed around the map with precise instructions preparing to fight off an evil overlord and save the world – they were all HIDING IN A CORNER expecting me, as sole Sunsinger, to throw solar nades at the boss! I discovered this last night on a similar team who gave better instructions. 2. I’m on PS3 (not Xbox or PS4) which doesn’t come with a mic. HOWEVER, I do have one – that’s not the point. I have one but because I mostly play late, I can’t use it. Kids asleep will get woken up by me shouting instructions into the mic – and often you need to shout. 3. I usually CAN hear people giving me instructions. However on that occasion the guy was mumbling and I couldn’t hear him over the background noise. 4. You absolutely do NOT need a mic for nightfall or weekly strikes. Whoever said that (I can’t be bothered to go through all the comments to hunt for that one) is an idiot. 5. And finally, I never expect to be ‘carried’ through ANY mission. Whenever I play in teams I get amongst the top kills, top revives and fewest deaths. I’m a good player and a good team player, and I say that without boasting – anyone who has teamed with me would say so.
