So before i was here on destiny i was playing with the lovely community within mobas, today while playing destiny, i thought of something pretty small but would impact lore problem pretty hard. On a particular moba i beta tested they implemented something called living lore(for those who dont know this moba was called dawngate). Living lore was basically two story choices, every player in the community could choose a side they wanted for the story to progress a certain way, usually this would be playing one of the selected characters of this lore. this gives that feeling of a world that changes consistently, (mobas have way less to play with as far as maps and campaign than destiny). It would allow us players to feel like our decisions are truly impacting this universe in destiny. It could be anything not just playing certain characters but so many kills on one planet versus another or even in an event so many bounties done with one faction than another or deaths on vog. idk but however each player carries out there decision it could effect the over all future of destiny. Its hard to explain i suggest looking up dawngate and reading about there living lore.
