Let me guess, it took you 3 hours to cheese him. When in actuality it would have taken you 25 minutes to do it legit

Damn... I kinda want to do this myself now, but I don't have any kind of team together and I won't be on much longer tonight... I do, however, have something of value: An Atheon checkpoint on Hard. Perhaps come tomorrow, if anyone's willing and able, this might be something that we can do, hm?

Too many people complain about not getting loot from Aethon or other bosses that they want or need. However in my opinion they are just spoiled. Too many games are made today for the casual player who needs instant gratification. Imagine this, when I played "Everquest" there were 70 man raids and 1-2 pieces of loot dropped per each boss (4 bosses roughly). These 1-2 pieces were class specific equipment (usually) and were bid on with points accumulated by attending raids. Raids took over 3 hours easily to complete. It also took me over 1-2 months to get a piece of loot from a raid but when you did, you sure as hell appreciated it more. Last night I finally got my Vex and Raid Sparrow by "not cheesing" Aethon. We used a pickup group and it took us an hour on the final boss. Why? We were not use to working together and players did not understand some of the mechanics (not to mention bug problems). I complained about the random port fix too at first but as long as you have players who communicate it should not pose a problem even for pickup groups. I made a few new friends to raid with last night and I am glad it took longer than a cheese to beat. It just made me a better player.

The idea that killing Atheon in a unique and unusual way is 'cheesing' or even 'cheating' is absolutely ridiculous. If it's an open world environment where you make the game your own, if you're encouraged to make teams and collaborate and develop your own 'strats' than so-called cheesing is absolutely appropriate. In fact, knocking Atheon of the edge is not only ingenious but much more exciting that numbly repeating the same crappy steps in and out the portal 5-10 times to simply wear down his health. These moronic fanboys that think you have to conform to a certain way of running a mission or raid are the same type of uninspired idiots in real life who slog away at a mindless job and wonder why they can't get ahead in life. And shame on you Bungie for "fixing" something that you encourage in the first place. You setup the raid with goals and mechanics, then change it because you don't like how people are doing it. That's not the spirit of Destiny that was sold to us for years. You're turning off players who want to be more than mindless robots repetitively following the same steps ad nauseam to finish a mission/raid. Why don't you just let players play it they way THEY WANT TO. The groups that like to do it "YOUR WAY" can form their own teams and the groups that like to knock him off the edge can make teams and do it there way. Finally EVERYONE needs to ask themselves .... What would Captain Kirk do? The answer is obvious, he would "cheese" the hell out of Atheon.

We tried this last night. We got him to walk off but he teleported back to the middle. We gave up chesse and just beat him normal way.

Id rather do this legit then have to try and get him to do this. Also, now do you dumb mother-blam!-ers see why they Nerfed the mythoclast, as soon as Bungie changes one thing, you start looking for the next easy way to do something

Nah, Atheon really isn't that hard legit. Beat him twice yesturday on hard mode without cheesing it. It took us a while, but we honestly spent as much or less time than it normally takes to knock him off the map. Once you play it enough times it just becomes second nature. Besides, they will just keep patching it until they get it right.

Instead of being angry or jealous of people who "Cheese" Atheon, or any other part of the game, you should be praising the people who figured it out. It takes a lot of planning, exploration, time and many deaths to figure it out. This is called tactics, and have been used for thousands of year to win wars and everyday life. It becomes trivialized in today's day and age because of the wide use of video capture and social media, so it seems simple...but we overlook the work it took to get to that point. Bungie Developers have stated time and time again to explore their world and push the boundaries of the game. We have done that and they have changed their vision. There is nothing wrong with that from either perspective. It's the game developers job to make the game challenging and fun. It's our right to figure out the nuances and use them to our advantage. That is how the world works. You shouldn't be ridiculed for thinking outside the norm. You can be angry at people for using an apparent "Easy" way to do something, but you do it in everyday life. One-hundred and fifty years ago people rode horses and trains for transportation, today it's cars and planes. One-hundred years ago, we cooked everything in giant cast iron ovens. Today we have microwaves and convection ovens because people thought outside the norm. Twenty-five years ago we carries around boxes of records, taps and CD's for our music(Or god forbid, musical instruments). Today we carry around thousands of songs and videos on devices the size of a wallet. If you watched a video, read a topic or had someone help you with the raid; you are doing the same thing as everyone else... they are just doing it a different way than what you choose. Doesn't make it less right or wrong. There once was a time where people were praised for figuring out a smarter more efficient way of doing things, even in video games. So if you choose to do Atheon head on or the "Cheesy" way, as long as you are having fun, what difference does it make? It doesn't. Because history has shown that people will always go for the smarter and easier method if one exists. It just boils down to choice. Yes it's pretty cool..although it seems to have a lot of luck..I'm sure this will catch on...but if you have 4 thirties going to the middle is real good..beat the hard raid legit for first time yesterday and it was satisfying. It took 3 portals and we didn't even have a weapons of light
