what would YOU do?

Everyone seems to love to complain on here. That doesn't make anything better. In fact it drowns out helpful comments. So the question i prepose, What would YOU do to make the game better? Please don't complain. Helpful suggestions only.

    Do a FFXIV and relaunch Destiny 2.0 with 3 racial storylines and unique missions until lvl 5 before converging into main storyline. ADD THE OPTION TO SKIP CUTSCENES. Core shooting mechanics is fine, although I think we could take a page from the Vita Remote Play control scheme and use d-pad up as a toggle for communication (hold down button, press A/B/X/Y or Circle/Cross/Triangle/Square for the various emotes), thereby freeing up the other 3 d-pads for other functions (more emotes, or *gasp* AMMO SYNTHESIS ON THE FLY) All classes to START WITH ALL 3 ELEMENTALSUBCLASSES. The lack of the 3rd subclass is unforgivable role-playing wise, and the funniest thing is it was clear a 3rd subclass was meant to be in all the while. Weapons - Set arbitrary min/max limits on gun specs to DIFFERENTIATE THE PRIMARY WEAPONS. To use a scale upon 10 as example: HC should have min/max impact of 4/7, 1/4 range, 1/4 stability, 1/5 rate of fire, 1/3 reload, and 6/12 magazine size (because 3 magazine size on a primary, and in A SCI-FI/SPACE MAGIC FUTURE makes zero sense). Comparatively, an AR should have 1/4 impact, 4/7 rate of fire, 5/7 reload, etc. you get the idea. Only legendaries/exotics perks can break the limit. Hopefully this makes all the 4 primary weapons more or less equally viable. You'd stick to one type because of either role-play reasons or just plain preference, not because one type is clearly better (most pulse rifles pale in comparison to Scouts or ARs) I wish I could customize my guns like Blacklight. But that's a different bugbear I don't wish to fight now. Secondary weapons should have Heavy Weapon counterparts. I'd move Fusion Rifles to Heavy as a heavy version of the Shotgun (close range high dmg buckshot). Sniper Rifles already have Rocket Launcher. Add in a melee Special Weapon. Why dual melee? WHY THE -blam!- NOT? MIssions - I don't have major issues with mission-based gameplay, but Patrol really needs more love. PUT IN A DAMN MINIMAP THAT TRACKS PUBLIC EVENTS on Ghost mode. INCREASE RATE AND VARIETY OF PUBLIC EVENTS a la Defiance which awards planetary upgrade mats, and chance for ascendant on gold. EVERYTHING SHOULD HAVE MATCHMAKING, or put in some kind of LFG function in the Tower, heck just expand the invitation options will do (add in invite to heroic, nightfall, raid) so inviting randoms isn't so painful. ADD IN LVL 28 STRIKES. Loot - Tweak RNG and WEIGH DROPS TO PERFORMANCE (best K/D ratio should NEVER be screwed over, and you shouldn't get better drops for joining in last minute), a little friendly competition is good and KEEPS AFKERs OUT of the game. There are obviously loot tables since Raid gear only drops in Raid, so give players the choice to grind strikes for specific gear. DECOUPLE GEAR APPEARANCE WITH RARITY, but rather tie it to planet. Means you get the possibility of all levels of gear of this flavour if you run Venus strikes and another type if you run Mars. Same applies to weapons. If you look at the shaders there are obviously 3 colour areas, so instead of dropping preset shaders, change it to unlocking colours on a palette which we can apply to both weapons and armor in 2 or 3 areas. Frankly if you think shaders are a mark of distinction for clearing content you are mistaken. It should be the gear. This also REMOVES SHADERS FROM LOOT TABLES. No more shaders screwing your look drops. Armor should be upgraded the same way as weapons, EQUALIZE ALL ARMOR PARTS. It's nonsense to have distinctive armor salvage when Hunter armor description says some hunters incorporate Titan armor into their own protection. Also solves the issue of running 3 characters just to triple the rate of drops. I still have more to say but that's all for now. Oh wait one more thing - REMOVE GLIMMER/MARKS LIMIT. TL;DR JUST LOOK AT ALL THE CAPS

  • I'd reverse the change of Atheon's random teleport back to the way it was originally designed. I'd make other, lesser gear capable of reaching lvl.30 available via alternate methods to encourage people to continue playing even when the raid shafts them multiple times. I'd eliminate the "turn in resources for tokens" thing and reinvent it as "spend glimmer you don't need on resources you DO need" instead. I'd further incentivize progress in the game with scaling rewards, meaning you have a higher chance of getting a legendary drop from killing something hard, but [u]no[/u] chance while killing a low level grunt. I'd up the power of pulse rifles, because they're currently the redheaded stepchild of the primary weapons family. I'd move exotic bounties over into the "Missions" part of the menu, so they don't take up a spot on daily bounties. I'd create a weapon exchange program, possibly with Xur or an event vendor, in which you can turn in all the junk you [i]don't[/i] want for a chance at getting something entirely different. I'd convince Activision that it would be a good business move to allow developers to redraft and alter the story to something that resembles a [i]story[/i] via free content in order to further promote the expanding universe in add-ons and sequels, brand loyalty and fan-created content, because at this point, there's not really going to be any. Most of all, I'd make a better, bolder attempt at making players feel included. This whole acknowledging-and-dismissing-through-Deej trend is making matters worse, rather than better. Provide Q&As, offer suggestions before implementing them, promote events with more guaranteed positives and unique features and really make logging into Destiny feel like an [i]exceptional experience[/i]. Because, right now, it really doesn't feel like that.

      I would add a program to the forums that would ban the complainers from the forums. This would make it a lot easier to find useful and interesting threads.

      I would start with the philosophy of, "Own it" If I had my say, at 7am today there would have been an official post from Bungie saying, Hey everyone we know the patch has brought about some additional issues. We are working hard to resolve as quick as we can. We appreciate your love of the game and we apologize for this inconvenience. Then I would create a basic list of all the poles on this site and take at lease 1!!!!!! Friggin idea for PVP and PVE that was "reasonable" and start to incorporate. DLC : those contracts are complete and it would probably be bad for us (gamers) if Bungie violated one to give us free DLC or other ideas that have been mentioned here today. We will have to just ride this round out... That's why my first day did not include burning Activision HG to the ground :) That's is where I would start...Relationships with my fan base by being the first one to walk to the Plate and "Own It" Sorry typos i am in iPhone app

    • - Matchmaking for raids and dailies/weeklies - voice chat in tower, patrol and matchmaking missions - More abilities - More story - More weapon types Fallen, Hive, Cabal, Vex, crossbows, Grenade Launchers and so on - More social areas - Actual holiday events with holiday inspired missions and rewards - Cosmetic armor or clothing - [b]Player trading[/b] - More crucible game types like king of the hill, capture the flag or maybe a zombie game type where the zombie players become thralls, that would be awesome. That's all I can think of.

      • I would expand the PVE, make more social items in the game (such as virtual game houses like in Red Dead but with other players using glimmer), and provide more scope of what is in the pipe. I wouldn't necessarily give every detail, but if I had, say, a living weather system coming in an update, I'd mention that we are "bringing a modification to the world in order to make it more immersive of an experience" and give an eta for it (such as Jan '15). I'm not a PVP player as I find it boring...but I'd come up with unique game modes rather than the same rehash of what we've already had. Modes where teams need to clear nav points in a specified order before the other teams, or infiltrate a fortress that is guarded by the opposing team. It's 2014 going on 2015. I feel like our PVP can move beyond the basic "kill mission" or standard capture zone game and put a new spin on it. I've seen sparrow races on here often. I think that'd be a lot of fun. Especially if they added an arena in the tower were people could spectate and place glimmer bets.

        • I wanted a in game party finder. Make it easy to party up. They won't do it. Why? We would be playing to much. Burning up content. No comm. No in game party finder. We crawl through this game using a outside web page and these damned forums. I will not buy another product from Bungie or Activision.
