Sorry for the delay. After consulting with the engineers I have learned some things I want to pass on. The Galaxy S2's (at least most of them) don't offer the support we need to render 3d. The same is true for some older S3's. Companion detects compatibility and chooses to show 3d if the experience will be a good one. Otherwise you just see the silhouette. The app could do a better job telling the user what's going on but we can't fix 3d for older devices trivially. We are working on ongoing improvements to 3d but we don't have specifics about what phones will be supported right now.
