My Dearest Destiny

My love for you has been unparalleled, others have come since I found you, and while they may be wonderful in their own right, none have stolen my heart like you. Destiny, I must know, why do you hurt me so, constantly calling me names, first it was centipede, then it was ant, now I've evolved to a monkey, but still I'm a lower life form. What must I do to spend more than 5 minutes with you at a time? Despite these things I've told all my friends how amazing you were and never mentioned the name calling, I brought them over to hang out, and what do you do? You kick them out, over and over. You call them names. You have no respect, no respect for the effort I have put into you, no respect for the money I've put into you, and to top it off you were bitter that on a 10 scale you typically were no hotter than a 7. Yet you complained about this. I defended you! I adamantly disagreed with them, pointing out all of the things they missed. I swore they were wrong, and I still do. Destiny. Your not a 7. Your a 5 at best. Yea you may be pretty. You may be fun when your in the right mood, but on a bad day, you are impossible to work with. It seems no matter what you do, no amount of therapy can fix your deep seeded flaws. You tell me your gonna make it better, patch up your short comings, only to turn around and do the same horrible things to me. Over and over. I think the thing that has me the most upset, sure I took advantage of you here and there, when convenient, but even then it's because you constantly gave me a present wrapped in the most amazing way, then when I opened it, it was filled with green or blue poo. What was I supposed to do? You managed to keep me from doing those things. Fixed them solid, made it not worth my time, in what seemed like a matter of days. But you can't seem to fix what's bothering me most. I just want to spend a few hours with you, while having my friends over. Destiny. Take a few days off. Spend some time alone. I'll be ok without you, as long as you promise that when you return, you have sorted through your baggage, picked out the pretty outfits and tossed the flog you beat me with. Please. I'm begging you. Edited for an update, as follows: When I wrote this 'letter' I was fairly annoyed with Destiny, and since writing it I haven't been back on to see if things have improved, but I am hearing they have. To my surprise I've received little negative feedback, and I think it's due mostly to the honesty in which the letter was written. At this point I hope the servers just improve, while I'd hope for near prefect performance, I don't expect it. Though I would like someone to at least acknowledge the shortcomings, and an apology to us for the failures, and frustration we've endured. To the forum members: I truly appreciate the 'likes' and the free bumps, it has kept my post at the top of the trending board for about 24 hours, and hopefully garnered the attention of bungie. To bungie: While an apology would be nice, and admitting your servers have let down the community over and over would be even better, I'm doubtful it will happen. DeeJ you could make some real fans if you owned the errors. You and I know 400,000 people are not having the same Internet issues at the same time while geographically separated by thousands of miles and dozens of ISPs. ...if you could at least humor me, a lone fan, with no clout, no pull, limited resources, and nearly no knowledge of anything IT related, and just let us know it will be fixed, but unlike all of the other times you've promised a fix, actually come through and give us the product that was promised when we installed the most anticipated game of the year. I am a big fan of this game, and as I look to the Internet for the next big thing to come out, there is nothing catching my eye. My $400 console is used exclusively for Destiny and Netflix, please, don't turn my squandered cash into a purveyor of b-rated horror flicks and documentaries about the origin of the universe. --Sean
