How does bungie think the PVP is fair and balanced?
This is the biggest load of hands down bologna I have seen. PVP is the most unbalanced ridiculously poor excuse of game play.

There is no way to avoid PVP. I don't want to play PVP, but they only way to get better weapons is to use crucible marks. The match making is completely flawed because it doesn't take the players PVP expertise into account. There should be a PVP level along with a PVE level. All level advantages are disabled except the fact that all perks are enabled on the weapons, the fact that armor rating and perks give advantages, and the fact that the Classes are unbalanced all make a difference. What it makes for is completely unbalanced play.
And don't get me started on the Exotic Bounties! I work my butt off to complete 5 strikes without dying only to find out that I need to get a 25 kill/death ratio! I work at it for 3 days, to get to 19 only to be stuck in a match with 4 level 29 and 30 players and lose all the progress I made. I was never able to match their weapons.... Shot for shot I always died first.
I guarantee the first three replies will be "Don't bitch because you suck" [b]Don't get me wrong, I suck at FPS Multi-player and I know I suck.[/b] I will be the first to admit it. With that fact alone, I will NEVER be able to get that K/D Ratio, never, ever, never!!!! But that does bring up a good point doesn't it. How do you get let the players that aren't PVP masters play without being destroyed all day long. This all boils down to one point....

Every MMORPG out there puts a MASSIVE wall between PVP and PVE. I loved the PVE and wish the story was on par with that game play, but the PVP is not something that I want to play yet I am forced to and even worse make me play for nearly unattainable goals.
Horrible. Hard core FPS Multi-player people will move on as soon as the latest and greatest comes along (next call of duty anyone?) It's the Casual Players like us that keep MMOs going for 10 years and Bungie is doing a great jobs of alienating us.

The best games are ones that allow player creativity and reward learning, tactics and use the imbalances to their advantage. However that is MISSED on 99% of "gamers" now adays because they are Waaaa I died to X, please nerf it so I don't die crybabies Waaaa I want to feel special because i'm a loser in real life, so make it very hard to get things. Waaaa learning skill is too hard can you just make the game easy for me by nerfing any threat to my playstyle. Waaa I don't want to adapt. Waaa other players are not playing the way I play please change that.

Personally and honestly, my biggest issue with PVP, is the spawning system they have it, they really need to fix it. Its annoying that i wont even take a step off when i respawn, and there's a guy right in front of me.

I dont play crucible anymore. You want marks grind materials hour by hour you almost earn the same amount in marks with zero frustration.

Stick with the Vanguard faction so you can get legendary weapons. Heck, even the exotic bounties that have PvP in them are pretty easy. If you want everyone to have the same weapons, go to one of the jumping simulators that Bungie made.

If you want to get a free exotic from a bounty because the nightfall is beyond your difficulty level or you weren't lucky enough to grind enough coin from tiger strikes to buy one from Xur on the weekend, its something you have to do. Does it suck if you are terribad at PvP? Yup sure does you scrubamuffin you. But that's why you get better and after all, IT IS A FREE EXOTIC WEAPON FROM A BOUNTY!! Bottom line is quit crying cause you have to work for good gear. I personally am not fond of PvP but I am a level 30 gun slinger and blade dancer. I've spent hours on end in the hard mode raid. If you want great gear you've got to be a great player. Wipe those tears away put the controller in your hands, sit up with your elbows on your knees, put in some work and get better, ain't shit in this world you don't have to work for. Get better or enjoy being captain scrubbing bubbles for the rest of your gaming career. Edit- forgot one thing. I level a character in the crucible from level 2-13 before I start story missions and I wreck kids with green and white weapons. Its completely gun skill in the crucible. Don't gimme that load about "they have better bonuses and perk and armor" its all scaled up and down. Not to mention... ITS AN EXOTIC WEAPON ITS SUPPOSED TO WRECK FACE! QUIT CRYING CAUSE YOU DONT HAVE ONE.

It's really quite simple, if you don't like PvP don't play it. You don't need to play it to upgrade your gear as you claim. Run some strikes and collect Vanguard Marks. It takes time, but I did it this way because i don't really like the destiny PvP.

I'm going to say they don't feel it's balanced right now. That's why they've started tweaking things. I think a lot of people knew after the beta that there were a lot of fixes needed to make it a decent pvp experience. Unfortunately it's just going to take some time.

It will always be unbalanced. Sorry but with PvE elements in the game its about the gun, style, and how good you are at aiming.

I'm going to be honest with you. I didn't read the post as I'm far to lazy and it's quite long so I'm pretty much responding to the title. The answer is they don't think it's balanced. That's why we keep getting hot fixes and they aren't going to stop coming any time soon.

Kick a lot of ass, you move up and get to play against players of a higher skill. Dominate one match because everyone sucked, you lvl up, but if you weren't on par with those at the higher skill lvl you would get bumped back down. What made it such a great system is that you were never outmatched(well mostly not). This allowed average players to become better just by learning how to play at there current skill cap. My little brother went from being stuck at 15 to with in a few months making it to 42. I capped out at 49, but would usually stay at 48. And it was great. You played players of similar or equal skill, and felt good about winning. I hate the PVP in this game, I have okay games and some really good ones, but then seem to get stuck in the same que with a premade group and get destroyed. Nothing against premades, but why the hell can I not talk to my team unless I invite them to an actual fire team. The best way to make friends in halo 2 was by taking to the guys on your team. That is something they need to fix.

You dont need to play PvP to get reputation or marks. you can farm items and trade them with the crucible NPC. For exotic bounties: yes they kinda suck but I did all of the exotic bounties (except got the fusion rifle because I dont really want it) and I dont use all of those weapons. Maybe its just me but I cant really enjoy using them. maybe after the thorn and juju buff, we'll see. I totally understand your problem. I personally think its good that they combine PvE and PvP a little bit but I'm a longtime FPS-guy so I enjoy PvP too (but I'm worse in destiny than in any other FPS game tbh ^^ ) Not combining it --> people will be mad combining it --> people will be mad..... it'll never be perfect...i'm sorry ;/

5 RepliesKd spread, not ratio. There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE. Ratio would mean 25x more kills than deaths. Spread means 25 more kills than deaths. If it rest every game, I would see your point. However, each game you play adds to the spread. Get a few more kills than deaths each game, and you are done before you know it. If you can't do this simple task, it is time to consider that this game just isn't meant for you.

PvP in any game is all about playing it over and over and over and over and over again. You learn the maps, you stop having to think and you just react, you have a better feel for what you need to do and where you need to be. It sucks at first, but you just have to stick with it, you will improve. Running with clan mates with mics helps a ton also. I won't lie, I personally hate the PvP in Destiny. Too many 1 shot kill weapons and supers for my taste, but it is what it is. If you are attempting bounties, just do them in little chunks at a time, you will get them done. My only real complaint is latency issues. But yeah, if you are just looking for marks without the headache, turn in materials to the Crucible vendor. You only get 5 marks for every 50 pieces of material, but hell, you only get 2 marks for a loss, and 3 for a win in Crucible.

Even if you loose you still get marks and rep. It's really no different than anything else. Takes a little practice and a lot of luck lol.

My tip for you would be fusion rifles. They are subject to some randomness with the spread, but the average one hit kill range is actually huge. Get one with a slower charge but more damage / stability and watch your radar. Begin charging it right before someone turns a corner, or strafe behind cover, charge, then strafe back out while keeping the reticle around waist height. Its best to aim low and let the recoil ride up the target's body.

I started out really bad at pvp. Keep with it. Weapons don't make the difference you think, even high level players use low level weapons because the low level weapons get a massive boost to ballance them with high level weapons. If you keep at it you will improve. There are still problems with pvp ballance and your frustration is valid. Of it helps you can use vanguard marks to buy gear from the vanguard vender. Also of you rank up in any faction past 3, they send you free stuff and tiger strikes load you down with engrams. So there are options to avoid pvp. May or may not help since you say your casual and might not have the time. Either way best of luck moving forward.
