confused about 10/24/2014 update

has the update come out or has iron banner come out because i read that it was supposed to start on the 24th but i never got an update and the event doors didnt open.

The iron banner event ended a short while ago. This week's Weekly Update (newsletter) stated Bungie is looking at bringing the Iron Banner back. They are aiming at doing so by the end of the year, but there is no specific date right now.
