I'm quite happy playing Destiny. But if you asked me how I would improve it, I would answer: [quote]I wish it surprised me more often[/quote]. Shortly after the game was released, I read : "Coming soon, Queen's Bounty and Iron Banner". I thought - "Hey, good! They'll re-use the game's main mechanics and incorporate them inside recurring themed events featuring unique rewards". I played through both and while the game stayed the same, I felt like I was actually in a different context because of the different loot I would get. I was genuinely surprised by these events. Now that I've been playing and re-playing through 100% of what the game has to offer at this point, I'm waiting for the next surprise. Actually, I'm secretly hoping to be "overwhelmed" by the amount of things to do in the coming months. I don't want to feel like I'm feeling now, like I've completed the game and am topping the toppings with extra topping. Of course I could buy another game and be surprised again, but I like Destiny's playing environment so much that I want more out of it. This is the game I want to play now, and I wish it had more things for me to do. It's not a movie. It's a living, breathing environment that I want to explore. More. I wish I could choose where my next adventure would be, and not be deflected towards something I [i]need[/i] to do - rather something I [i]want[/i] to do. And I wish I felt like I didn't have enough time to do it all. I want to be overwhelmed. So Bungie, I'm sure you have a lot things left to reveal about Destiny, but please. Don't make us feel like we're the ones leading the charge as players. Yes, listening to us and telling us that our feedback is being implemented is great, but it also worries us. It makes us believe that you had no cards left in your pockets, and that you're counting on our feedback to create additional content. It makes us picture you guys going like "Well, this is Destiny. We worked hard at creating this for YEARS and you guys aren't happy. So what the heck do you want? Tell us. We'll just do that, if that's what you want". That's not good. YOU are the CREATOR here. YOU are the organizer here. Destiny is a surprise birthday party where we're all invited, and YOU are planning the thing. Be original. Be disruptive. Don't always follow the AAA gamer trend. Go ahead and take RISKS. Surprise us.
