Destiny Tower Siege Idea.

You'd head to the tower as normal, but as you load in there's a cut-scene of a "Phobos or Sepiks" like monster attacking the tower. From here you'd push through smaller ranks of enemies (tower First person) to the hall of the Vanguard and Crucible and the respectful leaders (lets face it, the only ones in the tower who could put up a fight). Once you get there, you have to first branch into the hangar to secure it as an evacuation point and save Amanda Holiday, the FWC and Dead Orbit vendors. You are then told by your class master that the crucible leader, lord Shanxx. Went to the opposite side of the tower to help the speaker to the evac. When you push into the speakers area, you sneak in and it triggers a cutscene. In the cut-scene, Lord Shanxx confronts the speaker, who is still working on his device as per normal in the tower. Shanxx is then betrayed in some form by the speaker. The speaker then meets with one of the alien leaders assaulting the tower, at which point he deactivates the device on the tower. (which turns out to be a device designed to keep the Vex from being able to teleport through time and space, directly into the tower). At this point you would rush to the hangar while being pursued by endless waves of Vex now pouring in. The final cut-scene would feature your guardian telling The Vanguard what you had seen, what the Speaker had done. At this point, while everything seems so hopeless and lost. The Vanguard are contacted by the queen who invites the survivors back to the Reef, as refugees. At this point, the tower would be viewable (as is the case with the reef now) but, has no access points. The reef would now serve as the community hub. With Queen's bounty ranks enabling the use of several tower-esq but reef themed vendors. What do you guys think?

  • I like your idea. It's a very interesting notion to change up the hub area once in a while. I would add that it doesn't necessarily have to be a betrayal by the speaker (or other Tower characters/vendors) that prompts the change of scenery. It could just be a simple invite by the Queen to use her new Reef outpost. To expand upon your idea; This could then be incorporated as a kind of visit the 3 races unique hub areas. A previously abandoned Exo factory around Saturn (now run by Exo, possibly allied with the Exo Stranger) could be the 3rd hub. Each hub area, Tower, Reef, Exo Plant would look unique and have it's own set of characters, vendors, bounties, etc. The vendors would sell different gear, equipment, ships, sparrows and items that you can only purchase from that particular hub. It would spice things up. What do you think?
