Looks like Bungie & activision got caught

They screwed everyone on what could have been the next kotor. Apparently there was trading, gambling, a larger more vast open world with more to explore, etc. Then the long Johnson of the dollar snuck up behind us and had his way. I feel dirty and abused.

  • I agree with some of the speculation about what the story used to be. As some of it makes sense. It would also explain why there are lots of references to things that we never get to see. With games relying on voice actors to do in game narration, it can be difficult if not impossible to get them to come back and redo their new lines. Which might explain why some of Dinklebot's lines were sounding rushed. I don't believe those areas people have glitched into were ready to go. I think the map teams were way ahead of the strike/raid designers, so there are maps are ready to go, but there is no scripted content in them. I don't think that they dumbed down the game for younger players. WoW is rated T and it has everything short of the gambling (which isn't there because it's illegal in some markets). So if they pulled trading and removed an in game economy, it was for technical reasons most likely. My speculation is that the game was too ambitious for a console game and they had to drop a lot of the content that would have been feasible on a PC. Given that, as the video mentioned, they had to support last gen consoles as well. So we are left with a shell full of could-have-beens, that I hope will flesh out in the future. There are a lot of things we will never know unless at some point in the future, NDAs expire and people spill the beans. In that event, what's the point? The game will have moved on in its new direction and hopefully will be back on track by next year. Clearly, somewhere, someone stepped in and made an executive decision and the game still had to meet its deadline. So here we are. Disappointed, for sure. I'm still grinding away like an mmo masochist though.
