The Last Word Exotic Hand Cannon Broken Upgrade
I got The Last Word recently and have been upgrading it today. I was curious as to the bonus from it's "special" exotic upgrade exclusive to the gun. So I decided to test it before and after the upgrade to see just what the "Last Word" upgrade gave.
Unfortunately I found out it altogether isn't even functioning.
The upgrade reads, "Bonus damage and stability. Extra precision damage when firing from the hip."
I am a level 30 sunslinger, had smart drift control on it, and killed "chosen acolyte" in lvl 28 weekly heroic for the test.
Before upgrade:
ADS(aim down sights) Body shots: 381
ADS Precision shots: 1143
hip fire Body shots: 381
hip fire Precision shots: 1143
After "Last Word" upgrade:
ADS Body shots: 381
ADS Precision shots: 1143
hip fire Body Shots: 457
hip fire Precision shots: 1508
Clearly there is no bonus damage being applied from the upgrade to aim down sight damage and I saw no increased stability from it either. All damage from aiming is missing the 20% damage bonus. This is a major flaw, please fix this issue in the near future Bungie. Thank you.

Although you make good points and if it's the case then it does need fixing, Im still baffled at how you just can't take into consideration that it may be an error with, at least, the structuring of the sentence. Especially when your research into the stats backs up that possibility. I'm not saying you are wrong. You could be completely right and they have missed the buff to ads damage and stability. But there is that possibility that someone has made the mistake of a bad description and that possibility is backed up by the research that you done yourself. Either way, something needs fixed so it's good that you noticed the error.

3 RepliesI was under the impression the hip shots did extra damage - not the aim down sight shots. Isn't that what the perk text you quoted is saying? In which case - your numbers look accurate. Extra damage when firing from the hip.

3 RepliesI don't think my faith in the human race has ever dropped so sharply as when browsing this thread. It's full of people attacking you because you can read. If your testing is correct there is obviously something wrong with this item. It's either the performance or description, but one of the two needs to be fixed. If the description is correct the gun needs a damage buff. If the current damage effects are correct the description should read, "Bonus damage, stability and extra precision damage when firing from the hip."

3 RepliesUnfortunately, I think folks are getting distracted with negative commentary and not looking at the numbers and text closely. * All damage should be getting a boost post upgrade * Hip fire precision damage should also receive a secondary boost. If your data is correct, then it does seem it's bugged. ADS damage is missing a modifier, and the hip fire body shot is higher than it should be. Plus the stability modifier needs to be increased or the flag turned on. "...The upgrade reads, "Bonus damage and stability. Extra precision damage when firing from the hip."" Based off the description and using the values from your post, it seems they should read more like the following: Before upgrade: ADS(aim down sights) Body shots: 381 ADS Precision shots: 1143 hip fire Body shots: 381 hip fire Precision shots: 1143 After "Last Word" upgrade: ADS Body shots: 419 (vs 381) ADS Precision shots: 1325 (vs 1143) hip fire Body Shots: 419 (vs 457) hip fire Precision shots: 1508

if you fire from hip you do more damage than if you fire ads for real that is a bug. Also I notice I don't have the intense amount of recoil from fan fire in both ads and hip fire so might want to double check that with your gun. If my stability was changed trust me I would know because I fan fire and have to use the analog to keep the shot on target. Even the slightest change would cause my to readjust how far down I have to tilt the right analog when using fan fire. After the upgrade I don't really need to tilt it much anymore.

5 RepliesThe bonus damage is only supposed to be from firing from the hip. The wording is incorrect, but it functions as it's supposed to. There are numerous things that are worded improperly in the game, this is one of them.

9 RepliesLol people's comments are funny but I have to agree It didn't state what the bonus damage was for. Therefore it should be for aim down sights and hip fire. Wouldn't make much sense if a gun was stronger when you didn't aim lol.
