Suros Overpowered? Or Balanced?
Personally I tear through Suros users with my thorn or any other hand cannon I'm working on at the moment.
Just wondered what you all think so maybe Bungie can take a look here.

3 RepliesI think once I fully upgrade it, it will be fine in PVE. But for PvP there are much better options. People just make too big a deal about it, I know it's been in matches I've been in with my Shadow Price, but I've only been killed by it maybe 4-5 times I've seen. It might be getting a lot of play right now bc it's on sale with Xur but that'll die down again. SUROS is fine, I don't see it being much more special than other Autos.

There are a handful of Auto Rifles that feel too powerful at range in PvP, including Suros Regime, but also ones like Shadow Price. Their RoF makes up for the few missed shots, meaning even at the outer edges of medium range, they can overcome guns like Pulse Rifles and Scout Rifles by volume, leaving other guns zero margin for error. That said, they're perfectly reasonable in PvE and shouldn't be touched there at all.

2 RepliesBasically what's going on is lots of people have SUROS so all the baddies who don't know what the word balanced means complain that it's OP simply because they see it a lot. They don't understand that the SUROS is not wielding a Guardian, the Guardian is wielding the SUROS. They think it's all because of the gun that they died...

1 ReplyI've tried it on my new Titan and I honestly suck with it. I do better with my legendary rifle, but I don't have a lot of perks unlocked for suros. Any particular perk that makes it "broken"?

2 RepliesI think that if the Range on the Suros was lowered, it would be fine. I think Exotic weapons should be the best-in-class. However, I consistently outperform Scout Rifles at longer ranges. I don't think it should be the case that an Auto Rifle should outperform Scout Rifles in long-range engagements. If Range was lowered, you could still keep the Stability and Rate of Fire, just with having the damage scaling down with distance to leave room for Scout Rifles to perform more excellently where they should be.

1 ReplySuros is overpowered with the two damage boosts it gets and its extremely good stats all around. While other auto rifles get a set damage in normal Crucible based on the impact, the Suros gets more damage two-fold compared to auto rifles of the same impact. The only way it's balanced is in how everyone and their mother uses it.

12 RepliesEdited by ImpatientGamer0: 10/25/2014 7:08:54 PMI have it on my titan and absolutely love it but I understand that this gun is way over powered, while aimed down sight i do around 240 for headshots or about 170 for body shots with out an damage upgrades at all, my devil you know deals about 250 damage for body shot and like 1350 for headshot which insta kill most enemies and it's full upgraded, so this auto rifle deals as much damage as one of the best hand cannons (fully upgraded hand cannon vs not upgraded auto rifle) when it gets head shots and is built for precision shoting due to slow fire rate. An auto rifle shouldn't be dealing as much as a hand cannon with much faster rate of fire and much larger clip size. Also the range on it is insane for an auto rifle it's accurate at almost any range except extremely long range.

3 RepliesSuros and hawkmoon are the gold standard bungie should be raising the other exotics TO, not nerfing everyone's choices due to the fact that autorifles are the gold standard of gaming. Most players prefer autorifles. It's a demographic thing. I prefer things that disintegrate people. Its a visceral thing.

It seems like in games where balancing guns is priority to the devs, and they listen to the loudest bunch and act promptly, things never seem to get much better but the pace of matches slows down. The reason is; most things get "nerfed" and nothing gets buffed. Which means as everything gets touched, and gets weaker, kills get slower. Now this is not necessarily the case for Deatiny because they actually did buff something, and they may do more. But in games where people complain and nothing happens, the players tend to adapt and move on with time. As long as a few things can beat everything, with no master solution to the MP it will work itself out with time. People will always complain about something being OP, and no amount of patches will fix that. The only thing that can make players happy is themselves.
