Titans
To anyone. Which subclass do you think is better. Just in general. Like for goofing off, no raid or nightfall. I like protecting my friends, so I go for Defender. Thoughts?

2 RepliesIf the game got serious in the competitive arena, as per current class balance, the hunter is the best hands down. I love the titan, but its weak when compared to the other two. Right now I'm leveling up a warlock and that melee is just awesome - the slight distance compared to the titan's makes a world of difference and I'm just waiting for the blink to unlock to jump into the crucible with a shotty in my hands.

I will always use defender in anything PVE to help my friends as well, but I will use striker in the crucible as it fits the objectives better by getting kills.

I like both the classes the Titan has. I also have the 2 exotic helms for my Titan, Inner most light for the striker class, and The Saint Helm for the defender. I like switching between them depending on what I'm playing in the game. I prefer striker because I enjoy smashing the living crap of enemies on Pve and using the flying knee, that's the shoulder charge ability when you jump with it, in Pvp. Looking forward to what the 3rd subclass will bring to the game in December.

EDIT: Both of my classes are maxed. I have all exotic gear except for the gauntlets and The Insurmountable Skullfort. I am asking which subclass you use for patrol or story, IE: Not a serious area of play.

Gear comes into it, plus VoG is more defender orientated with the shield. But really just play the one you like. Ive been defender nearly all the time since i unlocked it only switch to striker occasionally for a change. Pvp striker does have more tools but either are useful so take your pick

I enjoy the Defender, Armamentarium, 100% Disc build. Just because you're a defender doesn't mean you need to remain defensive. Chuck up the shield to support your team and kick ass with magnetic grenades. I don't find striker that effective. Sure you can clear our a group of regular minions in a super, but overall you'll contribute more by giving your team the buff. The striker super does nothing that a single rocket can't, aside from holding other minions back behind Aftermath for a few seconds.

You have the helm of inmost light so you should use striker. Use defender for the VoG or when you get a different exotic piece of armor.
