What is Bungie hiding here?

I was exploring in the Vault of Glass and was curious as to what was up on the mountain to the right of (when facing the fight zone straight on) the "spawn zone" at the Templar boss. I was very interested in what I found... I scaled up the side of the mountain with my ferociously bold jumping skills, curtesy of Halo ninja practice, and came to the entrance of a small cavern-like path. I entered bravely, as all self respecting warlocks do, and found that this stretch of cave led into a foggy jumping puzzle like area. It was covered in vines and there were trees inside. It reminded me of the out-of-map area behind the Iron skull in Halo 3. Except more, you know, jump puzzle like. After many attempts I scaled the tallest spire in the room and reached the hight limit of the area (actually the height limit of the entire Vault of Glass I believe). I also saw and followed a jumping path which led to a curious area that I found rather jaw droopingly crazy. But first off, might I ask Bungie, why did you mark the way with red lights? Did you want us to find this? What is the purpose of this area? I have no idea how to or if you can add pictures to forums, but if i could, id add those that i took of all those lights guiding the jumping path. Also those that show the area change from Templar's Well back to the starting area, The Trial of Kabr. Oh yeah, almost forgot...the jaw droopingly crazy part, or more like the strangely weird, "what the freak bungie?!" part, is that this path leads to a "door"/opening that leads into a misty open crevice. Walk through and you fall to your death. Glide through however, and you'll find vaguely similar surroundings and a map barrier that you may have seen before. At the very first chest in the raid; if you look right, you will see a crevice, the same one after the jumping puzzle. Try to jump across this crevice and you find the same map barrier. Tell me Bungie, what is the purpose of this? Is there a purpose? Personally I'd like to know either way. I enjoy all of your games Bungie and hope you keep on rocking the world! Hope you guys liked the post! If you guys don't believe me then go look at this stuff yourselves. Don't find it? Message me, I'll tell you exactly where to look. Trust me, Indiana Jones has got nothing on this. I'm awaiting your response Bungie, but until then, I'll see you on the battlefield. Spartan G10

The place you describe is the alternate way to the templar. You just went in backwards. If you drop off the ledge where the first chest is you jump into the part where you came out of. As far as I know there is no chest or anything in that area. I too am curious about the red lights though.
