Striker Melee

When I first started the game, I chose the Titan. I read the description and thought that this was my guy, but the more I play the game, the more I feel that the Titan melee, the striker's in particular, is somewhat lacking. I believe the striker subclass even has a little description that reads something like: At close quarters, nothing is better than a fist. Their punch doesn't have extra range and the extra damage doesn't seem too great. Two of their melee tree skills involve random chance at the effect even occurring. Not to mention in PvP, they're very likely to be killed in an all out melee brawl before the other two classes. I think the striker could benefit very well from a buff to their melee skills. Tldr: Striker Titan needs a melee buff. Yes or no? I say yes.

  • Shoulder Charge is a one hit kill in PVP. all it requires is you to be sprinting for 3 seconds and has no cooldown.

    • Not just the striker, the overall design of Titan unit needs to be redone. It literally is the weakest of the three classes by design. People always bring up the super being 'op' when debating on how good is a Titan. Honestly man, I'd give away my super ability to have your better grenades, better range melee that activates the over shield, the ability to make your enemy lose sight of you when you teleport on a jump? These small things matter to me a lot more than a bad-ass looking super (FoH). I could just imagine if this was on PC, that ability to blink would be the main reason for me to play a class with. Armor stat literally means nothing in this game, building into recovery and agility is way more effective and the other two classes can do that very effectively. I started playing Sunslinger now and everything I did on a Titan, I did far better on the Sunslinger. Titan just feels very lacklusting to go back too, not a bad class, but the other two just have an overall better design to deliver more potential. There is no real incentive, like a true reason to play the class. If it could soak damage from a distance by choice then I would call this a defense class but as it stands, Sunslinger is the actual defense class in Destiny. Right now Titan is a high-risk, high reward kill type of class with good looking armor but barely lives up to its name.

      • If you lead a 'room' with shoulder charge you can clear it solo, sometimes. If you have a teammate with you it's a room clear.

        • The Class needs a buff, not the melee. We have shoulder charge, which for a skilled player, can be as good as or better than blink strike. The Titan class as a whole is the most balanced, but a good player can shield itself from it's weaknesses which makes the other two classes superior. Superior FPS intelligence certainly helps as well.

          • Definitely. That's the whole point of the class isn't it?
