Cant hit cap by yourself.
This is a very bad design, and something that should not have been in the games release. Basically if i cant find 5 people to do vault with i will never cap, All the gear i have leveled has been pointless, and no matter how hard i have been farming for weeks solo for shards wont even get me close without re-farming shards again? So ill finally be 30 when the cap is increased? probably done playing till this is fixed. Thanks for bending me over for expansions that i wont play either unless this is changed. cant believe how much time i wasted on what i thought would actually get me to level cap.

If so maybe that will help you. Its possible to get on the forums and find people and make a good team. Just takes some work sometimes. Also www.destinylfg.com is a great site. I added myself and received a Invite with in 10 mins and we beat the raid on the first try. That might be your best option.

i agree. I'm very disappointed that I can't get to level 30, ever. Some matchmaking for something other than strikes would have been nice, too.

There needs to be a Lone-Wolf raid where only one person can enter. Then the reward for it could be some lvl 30 Lone-Wolf Gear.

1 ReplyYou do realize you've hit level cap right? The level cap is 20, which ironically enough is a giant number on the left side of your character. The exp bar next to it is just to let you know you're still getting something for continuing to play. Now on the right hand side of your character you have a "light rating". This in no way has ANY effect on your level, but just simply the ability to have an easier time doing things that require better gear. Your argument that you "can't hit the level cap" has no foundation or ground to stand on because there is none. Bungie did not say the level cap was 30. And if you've played MMO's then you know the only way to aquire the best gear is to do the end game content. That is the raid. Your "light level" has no effect whatsoever on your level cap or the ability to do so. It just simply means you've aquired better gear and can do harder challenges outside of the story. Would you prefer everyone to have a 20 above his/her name and another number designating their light/gear level? Would that make it seem like you've hit your cap? Quit crying about not being able to hit level cap. Guess what? You already have.

6 RepliesAll I read is "Waahh... I bought an online MMO game advertised as being a next-gen co-op shooter with a focus on teamwork and I can't beat it solo." Dude... I understand it may not be easy to get a group, and that does need to be addressed (whether via in-game matchmaking, some sort of in-game version of destinylfg, or some other method, whatever it may be the issue does need to be addressed somehow), but that doesn't mean that you should be beating an MMO (that was designed around co-op and team play) solo. This is like crying that you can't get full heroic (mythic now I guess... since 6.0.2) raid gear in WoW without joining a group. That's how the game was fundamentally designed to be played. If you want a good game you can play without teaming up with other people, might I suggest... I dunno... Fallout 3 and New Vegas are pretty good... I enjoyed the new Wolfenstein game... It's not a single player game. Man up and team up, or leave.

Theyre fixing that soon pvp will have gear that reaches lvl 30 of course with the introduction of raid 2 the cap will be upped 32 but of course the game is designed around co op and guardians protecting the universe together as a team

If you go on the destiny general forums there are many looking for group threads for each system. It sucks that there is no world chat and we need to resort to the forums for group finding.

5 RepliesIn fact there is not a single mmolike game where you can max out your gearscore (or light level or whatever it is named) all by yourself. Max level is 20 and perfectly doable solo within a couple of hours. Getting a higher gearscore is always only possible in groups. And before someone throws in matchmaking... Even in WOW which is the most trivial and casual piece of garbage you will never cap if you only play in pug groups.

The problem with trying to get to level 30 is that even if you can complete a raid, you need to run it multiple times hoping to get three different pieces of raid gear. And these drops aren't guaranteed. They are RNG based! I've run the raid several times and have only received one piece of raid gear. Last night I completed a run and only received Chatterwhite (for the third time) and Ascendant shards. No raid weapons or gear! Very frustrating.

2 RepliesFrom what i read on the recent weekly update, the iron banner is coming back and with it, armor that can level you up to 30 so you dont have to struggle with the raid.

they need to make levels and gear mean something. They've put a soft lock on players using the light system to keep them out of raids by making them take heaps more damage and doing less damage to the mobs in those zones. If they want this system (that failed in LOTR) then fine, but make all strikes and pvp based on the hard cap and not the soft cap IMO. Put in leveling points like EQ's alternate advancement for when you hit the hard cap (have faction based trees like dead orbit etc., including a dark side) and make gear stats mean something! Light levels should only affect raids!
