Wouldn't it be great if Destiny wasn't for kids?

You should have released two versions, the T kid version we have now...and the MA version for the consumer who actually had cash to spend and a desire for this kind of content. Why'd you dumb the game down for the mass market?

  • I'm 27, but I think it's to easy to say the age would be the reason. For me it's the education you got and how you behave. And age has nothing to do with that.

  • I'm 16 and I bought it with my own money that I did have to work for. So I think I deserve to play it.

Also, bungie didn't "dumb down" the game, it was meant to be rated T from the start so more people could buy and play the game. Marketing reasons. The game probably wouldn't be so easy if some of you had a life beyond your gaming systems. I honestly believe the game would be worse if blood, gore, sex, and profanity were added in. All though I do hope to see the difficulty increase more as time goes on.

    • The same reason rated R theme movies are watered down to PG-13. It's called business and the point of a business is to make as much money as possible. What better way to do that than to make a game that is accessible to a larger player base with minimum restrictions.

    • The thing that makes it so overran with kids is the fact that it is only rated Teen. I know when I was younger it was a lot harder to get my hands on Mature games because of my mom. Lol. So that teen rating makings moms feel a lot better about buying a shooting game for their young one. This is just my opinion.

    • Maybe we should evolve beyond a culture that thinks mature means sex, drugs, and profanity.

      • I agree to a certain extent. If you're not in a clan, join a mature gamer clan. I recommend "Forgotten Relics".

        • The only logical reason to make the game stupid easy for children is so they can cater to the children. Hear me out. If this game is REALLY supposed to last ten years, wouldn't it make sense to get the young ones hooked while the game is incredibly new and still (mostly) broken? And then (hopefully) they will slowly increase the difficulty as time goes on. After the captured the minds of the 8-12 year olds become 12-16 year olds. A younger mind is like putty, they find this game incredibly easy and fun, they will think future titles are the exact same. And (seems to me at least) that there are more 14-22 year olds playing online than anyone else. So to me, it makes total sense that they make this game for children. It builds their franchise. That being said, i think it's total -blam!-in shit, I'm 32 years old and i would have much rather had an in depth game like i thought i was gonna get when i preordered the ghost edition. Make a game that engages people's minds, not one that molds a soft putty like mind bungie... Rant over *drops mic, exits stage left*

Because children have more of the marketshare since parents these days are stupid enough to buy whatever the child wants simply to diffuse a tantrum. "Mature" gamers (I assume you mean between 20-somethings and maybe a little bit younger or older) simply don't have the resource to buy games, or anything for that matter. I'm generally speaking of course. A majority of friends my age can't even afford to buy a next Gen system. The economy is shit for most people. I feel it was a greedy move on bungie, so I'm not defending them at all. I'm just giving an answer to your question :)

        • Parents don't care about maturity ratings. As long as it shuts the little brats up it can be filled with nudity and violence.

Don't matter what the rating is kids will play it anyways. GTA 5 good example. Ran into so many kids in that game then I ran them over with my car or shot a rocket in their face. Its not our the people's or developer's or publishers problem if kids play m-rated games or higher its the [b][i][u]PARENTS problem. PARENTS KNOW WTF YOUR KIDS ARE DOING.

                • Not really. Why exclude people for any reason. I think some of you guys lose sight on the fact that games are made for people to enjoy and have fun. Chill and enjoy the game for what it is.

                  • If you had intense blood and gore and could shoot off limbs and all that fun stuff, the people who are educated enough to dislike what we have would stay. T means Santa will bring a next gen console and the mentioned game. Added with put gost here, go do that there.. Hence T for Teen. Activision are genius. See what their next cod gots

                      • I'm 13 and still a very capable gamer. I'm polite and always volunteer to help new people to ensure they have hours of fun and learn their way around the game. I've even dismantled 3 exotic suros regimes I got because I made a promise to another player stating that I won't have any exotics until he does just to get him to keep playing the game trying to beat me at that. I do understand your point although, some of these children are completely irate.

                      • In today's world somehow I think a game rated T rather than M only keeps a very small percentage of kids away from games, and by small I mean couple hundred handfuls.
