Open Pvp Zones

So me and my Friend where sitting and waiting for an Public Event when we started to talk, we talked about how it was good that there wasn´t an open PvP world since that would have brought alot of grieefing. But then we started to think... What about if some Zones where PvP? Like 1 Zone at each planet or maby even a event that sometimes comes up on diffrent planets! - Like: If me and my friend are farming Spirit bloom and then we enter: Isthar Cliffs it will say: You have now entered a PvP Zone. So in this PvP zone you can kill people. If you kill someone you get a mark and with enough marks you can buy diffrent Shaders, Ships, Titan Marks, Hunter Capes and Warlock Bonds to show everyone else that your a true PKer. The Pvp marks wouldn´t give you a opertunity to buy Wepons and Armors since the point is not to get good gear here, the point is to show everyone that your a naturall born killer. Not in the Cruicible where you show everyone your skill as a Soldier but your skill as an ice cold murdurer. EDIT 1: There could be like a Zone controll event where you capture a zone and depending on wich faction you are in you get Rep for capturing and you get bonus rep if you kill another player if Zone is under your factions controll?   • Nope. Doesn't make sense. Plenty of other games out there with open world pvp. Don't need any of that here. Breaks lore, gets annoying to people on planet farming bounties, patrol missions, and planet resources. Guardians have enough enemies out there when out on patrol, they don't need to start killing each other.

    • I have been pushing for this since the start. Here are some of my ideas: 1. When selecting patrol missions you can enable pvp. 2. It would have Iron Banner type settings in terms of damage 3. Guardians have a higher engram drop rate vs computer opponents. 4. Public pvp events tied to factions. I.e. warsat dropped and your faction wants it. Players are tied to their highest leveled faction vanguard,FwC, Dead Orbit etc. With regard friend or foe. For those complaining against lore, the factions already fight with each other. There are some grimoire cards on this. Also you can simply not enter a patrol zone with pvp enabled

      You could remove/reduce risks by having certain 'faction' armor that would basically say 'hey, bring it on' Wear the gear and you're always open for PvP. Don't wear it, and you're in your PvE comfort zone. The other option is to mix in PvP public events. As they are now, nobody is forced to join a public events. Perhaps they could be centered around factions(?)

    • Ultima Online, Anarchy Online, and Eve all had / have this. It can be super threatening for a lot of people. I like the idea of there being story / PvE zones where a main sanctioned story moves forward. There can also be PvP open areas where player made stories move forward. Eve handles this extremely well, but it is also a more complex system. The really interesting thing I am having fun analyzing is how Destiny will be judged against the other console MMO games which have come before: Phantasy Star, Final Fantasy, Elder Scrolls Online. Is it better than those so far? I think so, it is certainly more engaging and better thought out than those were. Elder Scrolls seems to have been plagued by a number of systems which interacted in horrible ways. Now you want to talk about a confusing, mess of a game which REALLY never got to full potential; lets discuss Final Fantasy Online.....

      • I think it would work well as an event as well, some of the levels have great designed areas, but we never have to stay in them for long before we move on with the mission and soon forgotten area. They could just add areas as levels in crucible too, so much potential seems wasted. But would be cool if some large scale event saw guardians vs guardians to control areas of a level. Maybe if they discover a way to implement a 32 player battle it would work.

      • I think this is a good idea. I just think they should create whole new zones, that are resource rich on each planet, that way it gives people an incentive to be there, that zone would be PvP with no level limitations, you would need a fireteam to get control of the area and farm it. That also gives the PvPers an incentive with marks and such. I think a PvP zone would be sweet, I'd take part in it.

        Why not a public event that only takes place when the area is full (16 people), randomly divides them into 8v8, then begins a pseudo pvp game?

        • If there was a faction system that was supposed to be in the game then this would make sense. Otherwise you would be essentially killing another servant of the light in cold blood. To the people that only enjoy PVE, this could either be an option that is toggled or a planet/zone that could facilitate this.

          • PVP should be completely separate from PVE. Having a PVP zone mixed in a PVE area would be a disaster and turn the PVE players off the game. If you want open PVP then Bungie needs to make 2 completely different servers to select from, one for the PVP crowd and one for the PVE players. That way the PVP's can kill each other to their hearts content while not interfering with the rest of the people who are not interested in PVP. Simple enough.

            • I honestly think that something like this will come in the future. Like a massive PvP battle with tones of PvE style objectives and loads of fallen, vex or cabal trying to stop both teams, or factions, from retrieving/defending/opening said objectives. If not, its def something those at bungie have considered...

                    • I think if you wanted to do something like this, you should do it Borderlands style, where both parties need to agree to the fight before being put into it, that way, you could also open it up to the entire map.

                      • This PvP planet/zone could also be used for more massive team action, such as 8v8, or invasion type modes. Maybe a daily PvP event?
