Exotic Bounty - seriously.
I feel that I am just using up a productive bounty slot keeping that Exotic pipe dream in my inventory. I finished the 1st portion no problem, killing Hive enemies in quantity is ever so simple. Task #2 (kill 500 guardians in the crucible) would be achievable if the odometer didn't reset or go backards each time I die, and I die a bunch during PVP. I imagine the players who kill me 500 times a day appreciate the ease with which they gain their exotic hand cannon, but I don't think it's a realistic objective for me. Have I missed something? Can I try "boosting" with 250 if my closest friends in a Rumble match, have them all stand in one line and take out 2 at a time with my void dealing fusion?

You don't have to kill 500 ppl you get points for kills and lose points with your deaths... You gain more with kills then what you lose with your deaths...which means you are dying a lot or not getting kills with "void" weapons, grenades, supers... If you kill players with melee or a fire auto rifle you don't get points....read the description before you all complain about a bounty it's fairly easy to do

Get a void fusion, shotgun, or sniper. Pick void subclass and use void subclass grenade. Kill people. It took me 8 matches to get it done. It's probably one of the crappier bounties but it's not that bad.

I just got this again after abandoning it three times. I'm on the PvP portion. In 4 matches I'm at 250/500. It's not so bad. Having 2 void grenades as a titan is a plus. Just take your time and don't be in the middle of the fray. It's not as glamorous or well honorable but let a teammate go in first and draw fire. Open up with a void fusion rifle after the enemy is distracted.

You think you have it bad? I've gotten 7 exotic bounties in the past two weeks, sometimes 2 in one day.

3 RepliesHaha I wrote a very similar post about that exact bounty, i think we should discard it together, I don't even use a -blam!-ing hand cannon! (But just to let you know, one void damage kill gives you '5' of the '500' and one death takes it a minimum of '1' away from the '500') Or again, let's discard it together. . . . . . .

2 RepliesI don't understand why Bungie has made getting better weapons soul crushingly hard. I like many beat every single one of the Halo games on legendary and then moved on to adding skulls on top of that. But this is just insane. I shouldn't be forced to compete against talant freaks of nature get to destroy me every day with uber weapons I can't obtain.

It's 500 points, 1 kill=5 points 1 death= -2 points. Your k/d has to be .4 or below to not be able to do this part of the bounty. It's harder for hunters but not insanely hard.

I am not very good at PVP and I did it, so hang in there guardian. You can do it. Hopefully I can share my experience and help you out. First thing I did was I respec'd so give myself the most armor and recovery possible so that I have a higher chance in a shoot out. Try and use fully upgraded weapons because even though the weapons are normalized (ish) thanks to Bungie PvP Magic it seemed to me that I was able to do more damage with a fully spec'd out weapon. Next, I used a fusion rifle/sniper depending on the map with a rocket launcher. The biggest thing that made a difference for me was changing my urge to run out and "go get kills". I did a lot better when I hung back with team members and helped pick up assists (they count) or I could mop up or get kill shots in a fight. Hanging back allows you to pick off people who are running out on their own and you now become the hunter and not the hunted. Control maps seemed to be better for me and allowed me to stay out of the hot zones and pick out targets. It took me a few game sessions over a couple days but I got it done, and I find that I now do better at the crucible. Good luck guardian!

1 ReplyThe boosting idea might have merit if only I had even 5 more friends, but then that would also require the ability to set up a private crucible match where one could hand pick all of the participants. Not quite ready to X away the bounty yet, I guess I'll just have to visit the city a little more often with only 4 useable bounty slots.
