The Destiny Upgraded Series is a number of posts centered on four major parts of Destiny and how they can be improved. The links to the series are below. By far the most important is the Crucible portion which provides a lot of the groundwork for separating PvP and PvE development along loot lines while significantly increasing replayability. The focus of the series is just that: replayability. Destiny lacks this core concept, which is necessary for a long-term multiplayer game. Destiny is not a MMO by definition, but in many functions like one - though not very well as numerous professional critics have noted. Destiny Upgraded focuses on working with the current content - it does not propose hardly any "new" content per se. Instead it is intended as an 'upgrade' to Destiny to set it straight for future development in content. The series thus focuses on the conceptual, not the coding.
