How to balance pvp/weapons with no negative effects for pve
Hey guys i just read the thread for a perk for pve but this is not the best choice! Neither for pve or pvp
And im sorry for my horrible grammar im from switzerland. If you want something changed just send me the corrected part and i will update it.
Mow to the topic
Bungie should make ONE Pvp vendor where you get all your weapons and armour.
It would be like this if you hit 20 you get quest from this vendor to do a view training matches in pvp (as the training playlist in halo 2) after you completed this quest you can choose between 3 weapon types: primary, special and heavy
If you want another weapon you can easy buy it for crucible marks
And there is only one of each weapon type with no perks aviable (better for balancing)
Ranges for primary
Scout - 2.5
Pulse - 2
Auto - 1.5
3 is max range and 1 close range
Special Weapons
Its very difficult to balance i think fusion and shotgun need both some serious rework or a way to not use it the whole match as a primary weapons.
Some ideas:
Like i listed it up with primary
Sniper- 3 2 bodyshots or 1 hs
Fusion - 2 but maybe it takes 2body shots or as it is now one shot but increased chargerate
Shotgun - 1 1shot and at a rage of 1.5 2shots
Or we change the ammo you get for those weapons. When you die you lose the ammo like it it with heavy or lose at least half of it.
You spawn at the beginning with no ammo for specials. So no one can camp on bigger maps with the snipe from the beginning or with fusion/shotgun in the corners....
Then reduce the ammo you get from the packs and place them on points where teams have to actually fight for it to get the benefit.
I would like to see a difference between ammo drops for each weapon depends on the size of the map.
Example for bastion:
Sniper: 4 bullets
Fusion: 6
Shotgun: 8
So the good snipers have only 4 bullets and will not dominate on a larger map. I hope you know what i mean
On a smaller map it would be like this
Sniper: 8 bullets
Fusion: 6 bullets
Shotgun: 4 bullets
Now the heavy weapons idk how to balance this and how much shots i need for a kill with a mg. The only thing i know is i can get a 15 kill streak easy with one heavy ammo drop and thats too much :S maybe reduce the ammo to get max 4 kills as it is know with a rocket launcher.
Now in crucible there should be some kind of ranking system as it is in halo or mmos to get better weapons or armor.
For example
Rank 1 blue stuff
Rank 2 legendary (max light 27)
Rank 3 legendary and exotics (max light 30)
But you have not as much defense with 30 pvp gear as 30 pve dude
But you get only matched up against people with your rank so there is no benefit at all.
Some examples for rank 3 and exotics
Weapons and range
Scout- effective on ranges 3 and 2
Pulse _ effective on ranges from 1.5 to 2.5
Auto rifle - effective on tanges 1 and 2
All you get from an pvp is an extended range so every weapon is nearly the same, so it would get more skill based.
Armor
You can choose of 1 exotic for every playstyle (subclass) which some effects or perks on it
So the weapon balance would be only for those weapons from the vendor and will not affect the weapons created for pve.and if you want to use them in pve you can but they are a little bit weaker then pve weapons with the same stats
For example:
Pve max dmg 300 with upgrades
Pvp max dmg 290 or lower with upgrades
What do you think?
....the numbers are just for theory crafting i wont do the job for the bungie dev team ^^
