For all having connection issues.

I don't claim to be a networking genious (misspelled on purpose). But, here's what I did and it fixed my "bee" "cattle" "centipede" messages. Centipede - Here's what I did to fix my "centipede" error. First, I set up my ps4 with a static ip address. Yours will probably look like 192.168.1.1. You will want to put the last number at 25 instead of 1. Then, subnet mask will be 255.255.255.0. Your gateway will most likely be 192.168.1.1. Your ip address more than likely will be 192.168.1.__ . Sometimes, your ip address will be 192.168.0.___. I've even seen where the ip address can be 192.168.2.___. The only thing that should change would be that third number (the 0, 1, or 2). To figure out which is the right one, log into your router and go to something along the lines of view internet connection. There should be a list of numbers. The correct ip address number should be there along with your default gateway number. Make sure you write both of these down. If you don't know how to log into your router, then just google "how to log into my [name brand] router." Now, Change your DNS on your ps4 to: primary - 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4 These are google's public dns servers and they are great. MTU - automatic Proxy - more than likely click "do not use" So, this is what your ps4/xbox should look like: ip address: 192.168.1 (or 2 or 0) .25 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Def. Gateway: 192.168.1.1 Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8 Sec. DNS: 8.8.4.4 MAC Address: (this is assigned automatically) MAC Address: (this is assigned automatically) MTU: Automatic Proxy Server: Do Not Use NAT type: (hopefully it says) Type 2 Now that we have this out of the way, log back into your router and go to your advanced settings. You need to look for two things. First, UPnP (Universal plug and play). UPnP seems to just confused ps4s, so I disable this. Next, you need to look for DMZ. On my netgear router, this is underneath the WAN setup. Set up your DMZ as the ip address you entered into your ps4, which is 192.168.1.25. This will be the number at the top of your ps4's "view connection status" list. If you see "NAT filtering," there is sometimes the option to make 'Secure', 'Open', and SIP ALG completely disable this. MAKE SURE OPEN is selected and SIP ALG is disabled. This should fix the majority of problems. If you're still getting errors and you have done this correctly, then it is on bungies end. Let me know if you're still having issues and I'll try to help clear up any confusion. Error code "bee" is just simply letting you know that you do not have the available bandwidth to play Destiny at the moment. Destiny requires ALOT of bandwidth in order to play. If you have another family member watching Netflix. If you have another family member browsing Youtube videos, more than likely you will get this error code at some point. UPLOADING KILLS INTERNET CONNECTION. If you upload something (even something as small as a picture), you will probably get kicked from Destiny. For whatever reason, uploading will completely take away your ability to download, therefore Destiny won't be able to play. Destiny requires you to always be connected to play so it requires alot of bandwidth. Think about upgrading your internet. I know this may seem ridiculous, but I'm just the messenger :) "You wouldn't arrest a guy for just delivering drugs from one guy to another" - Michael Scott. Here's a list of error codes and potential fixes. Beagle/Blackbird/Buck/Camel/Chipmunk/Lime - Destiny install corrupted. Delete the game and redownload and reinstall. Make sure other games are playable on your system. Bull - You may have been hacked. Change your passwords on a computer that has no viruses or spyware. Buzzard/Stingray/Vulture - You need xbox live/playstation plus to play...bro. Caribou/Pelican/Penguin - Parental controls are kicking in. Carp - You were kicked back to the login screen. Probably on Bungie's end. Cat- Make sure destiny finished updating. Canary/Marionberry- Shut down your ps4/xbox. Unplug it for 30 seconds. Then, unplug your router/modem. Wait for 30 seconds. Plug your modem back in (wait for it to finish booting), plug in your router (wait for it to finish booting), then plug in your ps4/xbox and start playing Destiny again. Sometimes (just like your computer), your console needs to be shut down and started back up. Caterpillar/Cattle/Chicken/Chimpanzee - Restart your game and console. Bungie also may be working on servers. Catfish - Accept the agreement before you play the game. Pear- Restart your system. xbox party function not working properly. Urchin- You've been banned. Stop trying to glitch under the levels.... I hope this helps. I tried to just share with you all what I've done to improve my connection. Let me know if you continue to have problems! Thanks! ERROR CODE MONKEY!!!!! ****edit****** 09/25/14 @6:28 http://www.bungie.net/en/Help Go to this webpage and look at the statement in red. Bungie is working on the servers on ALL platforms. Until resolved, players may have difficulty logging into servers or experience disconnects. This is very common among online only games. They are repairing servers so hopefully it will be resolved shortly. *****EDIT******* 9/25/14 @6:43 Message on bungie's help page went away so I'm assuming servers are back up and running. Hopefully some issues were fixed.

We shouldn't have to fix a DAMN THING to play destiny. And for Bungie to ask we tinker with settings is absurd. I've NEVER had to change anything with ANY of my other games, EVER. And I shouldn't have to. It's a stall tactic on Bungie's part. As several other posters have pointed out, their suggested changes are folly. Their game is broken and they know it.
