An Audio Engineer and his frustration/love with Destiny

As an Audio Engineer who is aspiring to work in Sound Design for Video Games I am both in love and in hate with this game. Let me explain why: Love The sound of the environments. From running in a puddle on Venus to hearing the shifting sands on Mars. Going on patrol and suddenly hearing the sound of a chest or a crafting supply nearby that you can look for. The way the each of the races has little taunts and the unique way each of them sound from weaponry to the way they move The effects for the guns (Last Word is a personal favorite) The way you gave the Tower a unique personality by adding in little commessages, each of the vendors or Vanguard having little quips and conversations. I love sitting in the tower listening to the things going on around me. The epic score. O’Donnell, Salvatori, Johnson and McCartney did a fantastic job. I love getting to the end of a strike and hearing the music pick up in the heat of the battle. A great score that really accentuates the feel of the game, except for a certain story mission but I will get to that. Overall the sound design and score for this game are Amazing! It is really something to listen to and take lessons from. Dislike (hate is to strong of a word) No options for Volume control...... The music is fantastic but can drown out the environment at inappropriate times. I am a big fan of the Patrol mode and getting to explore the environment, to be looking for chests or a craft supply I need to complete that new gear or weapon I am working on only to have the music suddenly become overwhelmingly loud; I can barely hear my own gun fire let alone any enemies or resources in the area. Please give us a Volume control so we can enjoy more of the absolutely amazing sound design that your team has put together. The Not so Epic Black Garden fight music.... *spoilers for the story* I was 100% in love with the score of this game until about the second statue comes alive and suddenly the music takes such a strange turn I burt into laughter. It goes from putting me in an environment up to this fight of an epic space adventure I am at the end fighting for the future of something someone doesn’t have time to tell em about but thats ok I have a gun and a will to kill things; suddenly the music turns into something that sounds like Disney is using to plug a new Pirates of the Caribean movie. It is such an odd placement and removes you from the immersion of the fight. Everyone I play with makes the same comment when we get to that moment in the game at least once. “The music is so good in this game but this feels out of place.” usually followed by laughter. Everyone involved in this game did a great job on the score but this is so out of place it is comical. The Audio Glitch in The Vault of Glass...... This is going to get a bit audiophile but i encounter this and it is driving me nuts. It seems to me like there is a Sequence, Switch, Blend, or Music Switch Container in Wwise that is causing a loop or does not have an Action Event that is ending its override. When I encounter the glitch most of the time the only sound that will still trigger is gunfire and oracles in the templar area, and the the teleports/gunfire in the Atheon fight. It always seems to start for me during the phase with the Fanatics just before the Oracles appear. I am by no way a profesional in the gaming industry so I cannot be certain that this is what it is but from my personal experience working with Wwise and encountering this exact glitch myself working with Sauerbbraten:Cube 2 and Wwise it seems like the case. I would love to hear you address the audio glitch ( I find it more important than a loot cave or a babybumper for Atheon but hey I am an audio geek) and the volume control in a future update. If anyone agrees with me please feel free to post below. I love this game and want to see it improve and know that for me fixing both of these things will make a huge improvement on my experience. Thank you for making a great game Bungie! [
