Grenade spam in PvP (Constructive criticism)
The grenades in PvP are being spammed and exploited. The blast radius on some of them are insane. players throw a grenade 1st and then shoot. anybody agree? There is no skill involved.
[b]*Edit*[/b] what im trying to say is that people rely on the nades to much. Especially on maps like Fire base del. where one nade can cover a whole hallway.

This is why I use tripmine grenades. At least they take some semblance of skill. ...but seriously, have you ever played Halo? Grenade spam is essentially recommended.

1 ReplyThe spam is why there is a cool down on grenades instead of an ammo supply. If you spec grenades then you loose super charge rate and melee cool down; it's a trade off. Most grenades are rendered much less effective if you jump.

You're definitely seeing more grenades because last week Xur sold warlock chest armor that spawns you with full grenade energy. I wear that on my sunsinger with the perk to carry a second grenade and now I'm spawning with two grenades. It helps that most people are careless with their 'nades but I'm very deadly with them. I am Op. Nerf me.

I also usually run defender, so I have sticky grenades which makes the postmortem bounty very easy. I WILL use them, and I would be foolish not too capitalize on them. These are but tools in my arsenal. In order for me to win, you must lose. The crucible is no place for mercy. Your anguish sustains us.

No grenade should kill a fully shielded player, even if you hit them in the face with it. Devs have been trying to remove skill from games for years so everyone can feel like a winner. COD got pretty close to doing it but Destiny takes it to a whole new level.

lol, that's me. i always respawn with 2 grenades. Well at least it takes more skill than playing call of duty.

bro, that's what bungie is famous for. I ALWAYS threw nades in halo. nade here nade there, nades urrywhere. they take down shields and make for an easy kill. if anything the grenades are almost used less in destiny. but, i do agree that some nades Are indeed quite OP when compared to their counterparts. I think it's voidwalker that has the grenade that follows you, I hate that nade...

4 RepliesEdited by Roudhouse Kick: 10/19/2014 5:42:01 PMPeople very quickly forget the purpose of grenades in fps, and as this top frequently comes up whenever a new fps hits the shelves, I'll give you the low down: 1) to flush enemies out of secure spots (aka camping) 2) bombardment/aoe strategies Nerfing grenades range, damage or overall effectiveness will result in more camping since there's little you can do to stop them. Grenades are fine the way they are in destiny. I don't ever want to see Halo reach grenades in any fps game ever again. Those things belong on tennis courts, absolutely useless things...nerfed to oblivion because folk didn't like getting fragged...same kids then ended up crying about camping soon after! Tl:dr less QQ more Pew Pew. Or Kaboom kaboom in this case

In a game with this long of a time to kill, if you aren't throwing your grenades before you encounter enemies.....you are doing it wrong.

Are you getting killed by said grenades? If so, then stop running down hallways at people. If not, what's your problem? You forced a player to waste their grenade. You now have an advantage over them. It's called using what's given to you to gain tactical advantages. Each grenade has strengths and weaknesses. They all have different uses. Do you not use your grenade? If you don't, then you're robbing yourself of a weapon. If you do, you're a hypocrite.

I thought sliding shotgunners were cheap in the Crucible and then I figured out counter-strategies. To reiterate other people in the thread, OP needs to git gud.
